Great performance by Townsend. Positive and consistent in attack. Great tracking back to help his defenders. Really positive and he's done nothing but help himself today. Hopefully the start to a run of games for him.

He did well today - the fact he's starting validates the loan completely.

Jenas did well when he came on too. Can we arrange a swap deal with Big Tom in the summer you think?

I'm really pleased he played well. He's the player I want to make it the most from our youth ranks. He's homegrown, a yid through and through, works his bollocks of, and looks to have a lot of potential (fairly two footed). Plus, he plays in a position where we're quite short at the moment.

Hope he stays injury free, starts most games and comes back raring to go in the summer.

Nice to see him get game time at EPL level, you could see he had something in the EL last season, much needed loan as its a bloody waste just sitting on our bench not developing, would be great if we could produce a genuine home grown attacking talent..

Only saw the first hour (and read about the rest) and thought Andros was very good. Best attacking threat, maybe not as moments of genius as Taarabt but a lot more consistent. Also impressed by the fact when fouled he tried his hardest to stay on his feet, and great credit to the ref who gave the fouls even if play went on for a few more seconds and didn't lead anywhere.

I know Shaun Wright-Phillips was coming back from injury but Townsend looked a lot better than the ex-England international. Really hope this loan spell is the making of his Spurs career.

A few QPR fans in my gym tell me he was amazing at the weekend. Fantastic debut.

Looks like we may have another gem on our hands. A good half season with QPR and hopefully next season he can provide the wide cover we have been looking for for Balennon.

Premiership game time is all he needs to improve his final ball. And harry was a winger and should be able to help him with that.

Good times ahead.

A QPR season ticket holder mate of mine was massively impressed.

Walker needed a run of games in the Prem to get upto standard. Rose is now doing the same at Sunderland. Be great if Townsend does as well.

Too many young players get written off too quickly on this board. Be interested to see how he does.

I'm not sure what game you were watching, but Townsend was QPR's biggest threat. He was very direct and caused problems. If we are honest he has some limitations to his game, but I don't see how, on the back of a man of the match performance after about 1 training session with his new team mates, you could see why he doesn't start games.

Are there any highlights of his performance? I watched MOTD and there wasn't much focus on him during their highlights.
