Haha I watched a few minutes of the first half and saw him pass a ball 10 yards past the runner out of play and slice a clearance straight out 5 yards up the pitch. Shows you've got to watch the whole thing lol :)

QPR are pants thats why they are at the bottom of the table, anyone who goes into that team will be an improvement

Im not writing townsend off i'm just saying he didn't impress me and i can see why he hardly gets a look in the first 11, at least hes gonna get some games now

I saw the game and I wasn't really impress by him I can see why he don't start games

He doesn't start games because our wide players are Aaron Lennon and Gareth ****ing Bale. Most starting PL wingers wouldn't get games for us.

how'd he do today? i couldn't catch the game

I watched the first 20-25 minutes and he looked decent. But, I just had a look at Squawka and it sounded like didn't fare too well.

-2 performance score. Squawka can be a bit misleading, but usually when a player registers a negative score, they didn't have too great of a match.

I will say that Taarabt is even more selfish than Defoe. I counted at least twice where Taarabt turned from trouble, had Townsend open to get the ball to, and instead Taarabt tried to keep the ball and in the end lost it. It wouldn't even have taken a difficult ball to spring Townsend free.

Hopefully he's not pulled from the squad due to one sub-par match.

Thought I'd peruse a QPR forum and see how they thought he played today (up against Evra, was QPR's only semi-decent player imo). Just seen that this thread has been started - http://www.qprdot.org/viewtopic.php?t=67478 - they'll probably add to it, but sounds positive.
I watched the match and my takings were that he did have a great game or even a good game but compared to the rest of the team he looked brilliant but he was there only threat tbh and he came it went quiet

He was brilliant defensively and stopping the threat of Evra and Young, my dad(united fan) even joked he made more tackles than the qpr defence

O/T watching zamora was hard as it was clear he couldnt run far and was in agony with pain from the hip injury(his face was red when he said he could do 5 more mins)

Use the rest of the season to polish yourself up so that you'll be ready for our 25-man squad.

Agree, tbf one of Falque or Townsend would be usefull now with Bale playing in the middle now tbh and lennon does go in and out of form

Back in the starting line up today v Sunderland.

Of his 'rivals' Hoilet also starts whilst Shaun Wright-Phillips is on the bench.

QPR are dominating and alot of its going through Townsend. That front four looks very very good, actually too good for where they are
