QPR MOVES FOR JENAS AND ANDROS

Posted 31 January 2013 10:49pm
Andros Townsend has joined Queens Park Rangers on loan until the end of the season, while the Club has also reached agreement for the permanent transfer of Jermaine Jenas to Loftus Road.
Andros has made 18 appearances in our colours to date, scoring three goals, having also picked up experience on loan at Yeovil, Leyton Orient, MK Dons, Ipswich, Watford, Millwall, Leeds and Birmingham.

Big move for him, if he can shine there then he'll improve his chances at Spurs massively.

Let many I think he should have been used more but hopefully he'll prove his worth at Rangers.

Such a huge opportunity for him. I still hold high hopes for him in a Spurs shirt. A successful loan spell at QPR and he should put himself in a position of far more time with us next season. Either that or we would sell him to QPR for abig sum... Especially if they don't drop.

I genuinely think people will be surprised by his impact imo (says optimistically lol)

Agreed in principle but there are only 15 games left of the season. So its not going to make him a very experienced player even if he plays in them all (which is unlikely) but will certainly do his confidence some good if he has a few starts - and hopefully that will persuade AVB to include him more in squads and/or teams next season.

I don't understand this move one bit.

QPR have quality wingers in the form of SWP, Hoilett, Park and Mackie. Even Remy/Taarabt could play there.

Whereas Spurs only have Lennon, Bale and Dempsey. I would rather have Townsend on the wing than Sig/Bentley so I think this loan was a strange one as it weakens us and I don't think he'll be a starter for QPR...!!

I dont think so, I think he has been recently been playing very defensively and I figuring Townsend will be used to bring it from defence to attack sttraight away

Also harry doesnt seem very keen on Hoillett, Mackie and SWP, with the first 2 being close to joining another club and then Park has also played at CM because they are so lacking atm

I guess I've been proved wrong as he's starting for QPR against Norwich today!

Seems as though Harry rates him highly and thinks he's premier league quality which is a good sign.

Nice start to his loan spell. He's been there for 2-3 days and he's getting the start. Even with the familiarity of 'arry, it's an accomplishment. Make something of it, Andros!

Great that he has started with QPR - I was worried that with SWP and Hollett in the QPR squad too that his playing time might be limited. A few starts on loan will be great for his development - a run of starts would be fantastic for Spurs next season

Curiously there were rumours that at Spurs Harry had been trying to ship him out... All ITK should be taken with a pinch of salt.
