The reaction to this thread thus far was my initial reaction too.

But it makes a lot of sense. He's undoubtedly an upgrade on Llorente. He's still relatively young, he's English so wouldnt mess up our HG quota and if he's happy to be an understudy to Kane, then what is the problem here?

This might have legs.

Kevin Nolan is available for babysitting duties since recently departing his managerial role with Notts County. :nailbiting:

And he'd play potentially 15 games AT MOST per season across 4 competitions?

He's a temp until Kane is fit. My initial thought was the same, but he's just back from injury and ready to play. We're not gonna get anyone who knows the Premier League and can get in and do a job right away and that is what we need right now

I actually think he'd probably be more effective as an impact sub than Llorente is, and that's what Llorente's role is these days (ignoring our current predicament for a minute).

If Llorente was to leave this month, it wouldn't be the worst last minute replacement we've ever had.

That said I think it's a bullshit media link made up purely for the clicks.

Just fucking stop it. Llorente had a bad game but knows the squad, has more technique and gets injured far less than Carrol. It’s a bullshit story, made up by a bullshit rag, fed to desperate fans

This is a perfect example of shite journalism.

I'm almost 100% certain this started as a throwaway comment on Talksport or Radio 5 (can't remember, flick between them, and every other program on TS is about our injury crisis atm), someone suggested strikers that might be interested in a move - in the same breath they mentioned Rooney, but I don't see everyone shitting the bed reporting that Rooney is in the frame.

One barely audible comment from someone with no association with the club on a radio station and the red tops go straight for the headline which then fans flames and inside 24 hours it's a credible rumour.

Everyone so desperate for clubs to spend, spend, spend all the bullshit is backing up into their brains.

Fuck off.
