Just reading the leaked documents regarding Martials contract...

"Monaco due to be paid 50 per cent of any transfer fee between €60m and €100m United receive for the player"

http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ny-martial-could-cost-manchester-united-61-5m

Surely this can't be correct can it? Wat would possess United to agree with this? It would mean it would basically mean United would wouldn't benifit from selling for more than €60 unless of course the offer was over €100? If United are nearing other triggers for payment maybe they want to cut their losses? Long shot I know I was just shocked at the sell on details.

On the United forums they are saying the offer was £25M that would make sense wouldn't it? Basically half of €60? I'm clutching straws aren't I?

Maybe a swap deal would suit United as the sale price would be nil......then no sell on fee due to Monaco??

Hoping this is a smokescreen and that zaha is the attacking mid back up PL idea that itk spoke about. Martial never happening.

If the leak is accurate, I imagine it works such that the 50% is a cut of Martial's sell value between 60m and 100m euros. E.g. If he is sold for 65m euros, then Monaco are owed 50% of the amount between 60m and 100m, e.g. 50% of 5m = 2.5m.

Son who scored 14 goals for us last season?

I'd stick with Son personally.

It's not as black and white as the original poster said in benching Son. There are plenty of games for everyone and having Martial and Son as options would be fantastic across all competitions. Can't see this happening in a month of sundays but Sissoko out and Martial in would be like swapping a clapped out Corsa for a Ferrari with one owner and 1,000 miles on the clock!

Normally I'd expect no chance in hell of this happening but with Rose tempting them to do a deal I'm wondering if they might go for it...

Rose out and Martial and Sessegnon in would certainly be a statement of intent from Levy.

It would also lead to several Spurs fans doing irreparable damage to their penises

I can hear Levy cackling "Don't let the door hit you up the arse on your way out Danny" :D

Unfortunately, this deal seems extremely unrealistic even with Rose involved, imho.

However, as we all know as Spurs fans, hope is a big part of everything we do.

Getting Martial (especially off United) could prove to be our greatest coup....possibly ever

I'd take that deal in an absolute heartbeat.

LB looks the only obvious place for them to strengthen, and he would be one of the best on the market, quite the carrot.

I'd take Jose bringing him on ahead of Lingard for the first time in forever being his way of saying he wants to keep him however.

Seems that some people are pinning their hopes on Rose being the facilitator in a deal for Martial when I'd have thought Utd would prefer Eric Dier, maybe both of them, how d'ya like them apples?
