We'll get more than the 25m though, point is theres no need to panic.

I think the message holding firm would send out would be worth far more over the next 4-5 years than the extra 20-25m, which we could potentially still get anyway.

He hasn't kicked up a fuss or refused to train he has been professional.
If he doesn't want to sign sell him for as much as we can get and reinvest. Shake hands and wish him well.
If no club matches our valuation though then we keep him.

ITK says his people have burned too many bridges for him to be welcomed back into the fold.

Edit: maybe take the discussion to the correct thread.

Yeah so he hasn't achieved those marks, whats your point? I would assume those only count if he's under contract to ManU. Anyways I'm trying to stop getting myself excited about this as the most likely outcome is they get Toby and we end up with Sessegnon :(
The point is rather obvious. He could have another epl season like the last for United and it would cost them an extra €20m. It’s definitey a reason to sell.

Additional to the transfer fee depreciation that Martial would see if they wait a year with only 1 year left he wcould also likely cost them another 10m for his next goal and 10m for 7more France caps. And the activation cost to extend his contract into the final year also + it’s presumably higher cost. They are also disincentivesed from charging above about 50m now as they start needing to give 50% of that to Monaco.

He leaves this summer imo and due to the fee structure I don’t think they have the leverage to force him abroad if his mind is determined otherwise

The other day they did the same thing with The Mirror. If we worked hard enough we could probably make a story on to one of these news sites aggregators which then all these Spurs 'news' accounts. (Which is sad because I actually like the idea of the service they provide).

I nominate we push for "Spurs in surprise move for Liverpool hero Lloris Karius" and see how far we can take it.

What's the problem, though. They're called Tottenham Related & they post anything and everything associated to Tottenham Hotspur. They don't proclaim to have first hand knowledge of anything, they don't claim that any info is their own, they simply look for all things THFC and post it for others to see/read.

Even their bio clearly states, "Largest independent @SpursOfficial fan account. All #thfc related content collected into one feed"

Saying that us from The Guardian gives weight to it when that is not the actual source of information. Also a lot of the time they misrepsent the information, intentional or not, by leaving out key details. I follow them, and don't think people shouldn't, but they require as much salt with each post as many of the itks.

The problem being they say The Guardian have stated that we "have prioritised signing either Wilfried Zaha or Anthony Martial upon request from Mauricio Pochettino" as though it's some official article from The Guardian. It isn't. It's from their rumour mill column. I have no issue at all with these Twitter news sources posting articles. What I do have an issue with is disguising them as something they're not to take advantage of gullible mugs on social media.

There was another one from Daily Hotspur yesterday that took the same article from Friday and tweeted "@Guardian_Sport | Tottenham Hotspur are considering making a late attempt to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can whose contract expires on 30 May", again using the Guardian hashtag in some weak attempt to lend it some credibility. It then got asked about on COYS prompting Ali Z to comment. That means it then got brought up in our ITK thread and even made it to the Read Only section. That's the problem.

Thanks for the responses, @tiger666 & @Univarn . I wasn't looking for a fight, I simply don't see the big deal.

As far as I'm aware, nobody is forced to read or pay attention to a single thing posted here, Twitter, Facebook or anywhere else on the internet. I just don't see the point in complaining/moaning about something that nobody is forced to read or pay attention to.

So they’ll let a 22/23 year old, who cost them £40-50m, run down his contract and leave on a free? I think not.

No I agree entirely. I posted

"That's cobbled together from this: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...nsfer-rumours-tottenham-to-sign-wilfried-zaha"

Not to try to shoot him down, moan or say that he shouldn't post it, was just highlighting that the article came from a rumour so people know it for what it is.

It's not that. If people start filling the threads with tweets from agentitk etc... it just spams the thread and any credible information is lost and people will stop visiting the thread. It's why rob and a&c are tough on twitter.

Try and make sure that the information you post is from a credible source.

Or they let him rot in the youth for the next year as a message to others not to run down their contracts. They are one of the few clubs where £40m doesn't mean that much.
