I’ve read somewhere that if United sell Martial for more than £45m, Monaco get a huge chunk. Might incentivise them to do a trade or something. Might also be untrue.

If there is such a clause you just know Levy would be all over it.

IIRC it might have been a profit %, so anything over the fee paid by Utd gets split.

Yanited want best part of 60m for him, especially with their obligations to Monaco. Forget the fact he has a year left on his contract. I personally believe we will pay it, if Poch believes it is a risk worth taking out of his budget,

Utd fans saying they have a year option aswell.

£60m does make things interesting. Could Zaha be get-able for that amount? Mahrez? As has been mentioned Fekir is rumoured to be this amount.

Martial does tick a lot of boxes but he's not without risk either.

But they will have to stump up another €10m (£7.6m) if he scores 25 league goals, €10m if he wins 25 caps for France and €10m if he is nominated for the Ballon d'Or award. That could total upwards of £60m. So far he’s scored 13 EPL goals and 18 games for France. However I’d assume he made his international debut while playing for Monaco.
He has 24 league goals

No way will United sell us martial without getting something in return i.e. Toby, and that's not a deal I'd want us to do.

Herc's latest implies pulisic is the more likely at this stage going by his comments yesterday of one being more likely than the other

The stats I scanned missed off his 11 goals in his first season. However it’s a €20m question for United to keep him next season as they’ll potentially trigger the first 2 payments next season. Martial missing out on the World Cup mighty also our a rocket up his arse to leave as well.

Oh yeah, I agree, I was saying it's more likely they will have to pay the add-ons

I wondered that as well but I feel like both would be complicated in different ways and potentially equally expensive. I wonder if we have to pursue both and see which comes out the better structured deal and pursue that or go in on both if they are both structured well. I still suspect a certain amount of Poch's budget is tied in waiting for the result of Fulham/Villa and that will free up or quickly burn the Sess money.

I was going by him saying one will probably happen and one is more complicated but not on our end. If he said just now that he agrees man utd probably wouldnt sell to us it indicates pulisic is the one more likely. I'd be happy with either, being greedy I'd have both as long as we don't have to compromise on a centre mid

Manchester United won't swap Anthony Martial for Toby Alderweireld - sources

MANCHESTER, England -- Manchester United are determined to resist attempts by Tottenham to include Anthony Martial in any deal for Toby Alderweireld, sources have told ESPN FC.

United are keen to take advantage of Alderweireld's contract standoff with Tottenham to bring the defender to Old Trafford this summer.

Spurs, meanwhile, hold an interest in 22-year-old Martial, who has become frustrated at a lack of opportunities following Alexis Sanchez's arrival in January.

But while sources have confirmed Tottenham are resigned to losing Alderweireld, United are hopeful of keeping hold of Martial and will only listen to offers if he pushes for a move.

Alderweireld, 29, has two years left on his contract but with little prospect of an extension being agreed, Spurs are willing to cash in if they receive a fee in the region of £50 million.

Martial, who started just four Premier League games between February and May, was only named among the substitutes for the FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea and missed out on a place in France's World Cup squad.

Jose Mourinho has made it clear that any player wanting to leave this summer can go for the right price but sources have said that if Martial -- who is also on Juventus' radar -- makes it clear he is determined to move, United would prefer to sell to a club outside the Premier League.

Is the author of this article also a Man Utd fan who is trying to put a positive spin on it by any chance ?

Watch us sell Toby to Utd whilst they refuse to sell us Martial.

Indeed. It'd be a re-hash of last summer when we sold Walker to City whilst hoping they'd be more willing to let us sign Sancho. Didn't work out.

I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing unless our targets after Martial are a steep drop in quality, which they have been in the past. No matter how much we like to imagine otherwise United have god tier money and can afford to do what they want, and we do not (yet).

i think a lot more teams will be dealing with each other, you wont get Man U/Liverpool or us/scum but players know dont want to go abroad unless its Real or Barca
If Martial wants to leave and they want to sell where is he going to go, like us with Toby we cant force him to go somewhere he wont
