If we think Martial is the one, or Poch does, then you’d imagine we’d hope he’d be at the level of our other Crown Jewels, all of whom we would want £100m+ for each, who cost us about £20m in total. If we rate Martial like Kane Alli or Eriksen then 80m is a lot but in this market he could still grow in value.

I agree but that doesn't change the fact he's for sale.
We're being bent over like the walker deal last season.
We're not getting Martial your not getting Toby should be our line.
Put the pressure on them Mourhino wants Toby and will bitch to the media if he doesn't get him.
It's being spun like we don't have a choice.
Both players are for sale and they don't want to sell to us but want our player to strengthen them.

just as well your not in charge of our finances, if you can afford to lose £30m, and not have the extra money in the pot this season or next season and paying a player 50k or 75k a week (have seen both figures as his wages) that you don't want, and would have to make him train with the youth, so he doesn't cause trouble. all for a player that if he was to come in wants to play week in or week out or sulk. which means Son is then the one that gets left out and ends up with him wanting off due to lack of play time.

Apparently us and Juve in for him, but Juve have just signed Douglas Costa, and I think we can outmuscle Juve in the financial dept! Would be a terrific signing!

I think the situation with Martial is that he will remain as our number 1 target for as long as it's realistic. He's a player who knows this league well enough now to be able to hit the ground running whenever he joins. He will maintain his fitness with Utd on their pre-season so the risk is low if we have to take him relatively late. We just need to know that there is still a possibility of getting a deal done.

I guess we'll have a deadline for him and if that passes then we'll move on to the 22 year old backup option that is playing in europe, whoever that may be.

Really hope this one comes to pass. He's their most exciting player in my eyes, and most United Fans I speak to rate him far higher than others that get played ahead of him. I remember us being linked and dropping out of it well before United bought him, I wonder how many of the add-ons they've had to pay because they put down some serious money (at the time). Maybe they are still doing maths versus what Levy is offering . Other than a CM, he's top of my list - He'd look great in a Spurs shirt!

It’ll come down to Maureen having a hissy fit and the board either giving in or holding their ground and pissing off the little twat

just cant see utd being bullied into selling him when hes got 2 yrs left on the contract.

2 years left on a contract is often the best time to sell, let it roll to 12 months/18 months and you're in limbo.

We need him to kick up a right fuss then. Make it so that Mourinho just wants him gone and the board have no choice.

Guess we will find out how much he wants to join us, the fact it's out he wants to leave, it's obvious jose doesn't fancy him, we have players that united want, we should make this happen
