1. You only have to watch Kanes passing highlight video to see how many times dele slowed down our attack on the counter, also I'm pretty confident it's mane and Salah doing the counter for Liverpool not Can, Wijnaldum and Hendo

2. You can have both, Man city have Kevin De Bruyne feeding Sane and Sterling constantly. I don't see why you'd only want 1 option of variety in your attack considering Eriksen was shut down in a fair few games last season. Just because Son did it in a couple of games doesn't mean we should have more options.

3. Why you wouldn't want depth astounds me. Son is fucking off for a fair whack of the season and can be used a differential to Kane and give us the option of resting Kane playing Son uptop with two either side. Honestly I don't understand why you wouldn't want depth.

You seem very black and white about it. Like we are all of a sudden saying Son isn't a great player because we sign another winger or we can't additionally sign a cm. Regardless of favourites we need depth and to be constantly improving.
I 100000% agree Dele slowed down an insane amount of attacks last year, its exactly why I'm not excited about a move to a 4-3-3 cause I don't see how Dele fits there unless he grows a lot this next season. It takes a competent passer in the middle of the field to get the ball to those players for them to get off on the break.

For everyone saying that another forward is what we need to break down the bus all I need to state is how poor Liverpool have been against bad teams vs how Man City treat those teams. Sure Man City have really damn good wingers, but they pass the hell out of the ball, Liverpool just want to run. We have the ability to run with Lucas & Son. We don't have the ability to pass the ball.

Would I like to add Zaha & Martial, of course I would. But I'm not convinved a wing forward is what we need to take it to the "next level", that's what I was responding to. And I'm not excited about the possibility of adding those players if it takes away from our ability to purchase a CM.

Let's. Not forget Sons 39 goals in two seasons. Martial might get close, Zaha, no way.

I think that's unfair, do you really think Son would bang 39 goals in 2 seasons in that Palace team? I personally don't see it. I mean I've watched him struggle to stand out for Korea despite his obviously superior skill level, it's fair to say Zaha would likely improve his goalscoring rate with us.

Well what I'd say is we've been told by nearly every ITK that we are bringing in 3, I'd be astounded if one wasn't a cm. I'm also very hopeful that we are switching to 4-3-3 and we will have Eriksen and Winksy pinging balls or dele dropping back so he can run from deep and not be the man moving the ball on the counter. He would need to improve his passing though.

But through everything we've seen & heard thus far wing forward is our main priority which is flawed logic, IMO.

Either one would elevate us to the next level
I feel Zaha is vastly overrated on here.

An okay Premier League player, but not much more.

Martial on the other hand is a level above, and do undoubtedly have a much higher ceiling. I’d be happy for us to pay 20-30 m more to get Martial if either were doable, even though I find Zahas mooted price absolutely ridicolous compared to his ability.

He's missing 2 months altogether potentially. That's automatically making one of our key players redundant for nearly a quarter of a season. I can completely understand the desire to get a player come in that can not only offer genuine competition but offer a talented option should we need to rest Kane or if Kane gets an injury.

Our squad is now of enough quality that we could be adding one quality player per window to keep evolving. With Jan, Sanchez & Foyth offering class, along with Toby as it stands and with our CM still having Dembele, Sissoko, Winks, Dier & Wanyama, as well as Eriksen who can do a stint there I can see why a WF of high quality is desired this summer.

It gives Heung-Min Son, a player who has to represent his nation on two separate occasions this season, on the back of a World Cup summer as well competition, rotation and the squad options from the bench or first XI should form drop and it'll also mean the club can hopefully move on Llorente & Janssen who simply aren't cut out for what we need to genuinely compete up top.

If we don't get a WF in the only competition Son has is Nkoudou and the only protection we have for Kane is Son really because Llorente and Janssen aren't good enough at the level we should be aspiring for.

I'd love to see Grealish come in to help Eriksens burden and to maybe force his way into becoming our CM heir to Dembele, and I would love to see a real weapon like Zaha join as it'll really cause havoc for teams trying to defend against us throughout this season, the following and thereafter.

Rebrab did say focus was on CM to be fair, just that the player was under the radar.

A lot of the Martial/Zaha focus is because they are the highest profile and most exciting players we've actually been linked to.

It's hard to get on the CM hype train when you have no idea who it is!

If he's overrated it's not just on here. Zaha is widely regarded as the best player outside of the 'top 6'.

Hope: Kovacic/Ndombele

Realism: Doucoure/Lemina (for the record I think Doucoure would be a good signing)

Ben faithorne has said ,Utd confirmed this afternoon they would rather miss out on Toby than allow martial to spurs ?
Man literally got fired because he got caught making up stories. Why he still has a following and people who believe him boggles the mind.

couldn't agree more, even more so now with mahrez gone.

I think he'd surprise you flashp. even danny rose reckons he's his toughest opponent.
Every time I watch Palace against a big club, he causes problems, massive problems. He's also triple marked in those games as Palaces only threat.

There is something about Doucoure. Thought he looked atrocious when he arrived but was clearly Watford's best player after Richarlison burnt out. Would always worry he could devolve back to that player at the start though.

Lemina looks a solid squad option in the dembele mould.

I'm hoping for more of a maestro in the Carrick mould but not sure what's out there.

All he does is look at the recent reports doing the rounds and sensationalize them. Anyone with half a brain could do what he does.
