Is that not the perfect indicator of how difficult the market is?

£1billion has been spent and how many teams/fans are happy with their business?

Richarlison, Gibson, Maddison and Danny Ward (?) make up almost 10% of all money spent by premier league clubs this window. And another 15% is by a club Trix has told us have massively overpaid on agent fees. That’s difficult.

As long as we get our targets I honestly couldn’t give a fuck about agents fees ??‍♂️

Seems like every other club is willing to play the game but us...

What are we trying to achieve? The moral high ground?

Of course Levy will get credit, it's what most of us are after. Being resigned to losing Toby, getting Martial is a bit of a coup really.

Premier League clubs have so far spent £1b (billion) pounds this summer, but it's "difficult".

My arse.

You're flaming the fires of discontent and I love it. Come what may i do love the energy of the transfer window

And I’m guessing that’s why you’re not the chairman of a £1billion+ company...

Trix did a post earlier in the window about agent fees if you want to find and read that and poch along with all itk we’ve had including JJ have said the market is difficult, if people want to go against that cool that’s their opinion but to deny that is a factor (along with bad decision making) is in my opinion stupid.

On paper it seems that many clubs have done their best business in ages. Why aren't they experiencing this difficulty.

I would maybe view it all as a more difficult situation to overcome if we weren't the only club in the league to make a transfer...

The market is the market, it's as difficult as you make it.

Which ones? Outside of Liverpool, most of them have been lower table teams who (like West Ham) have paid premiums for average players that their parent clubs have been happy to sell.

Buying to improve a CL team is much harder. Real haven't replaced their 50-goal-per-season star man yet, which is probably a big issue for them.

Who has moved in/to the EPL that we could have got that would have improved us? Not saying you are wrong just don't think it's been a great window for as many as we think and over paid for mediocrity

I would actually been happy with Anderson and Yarmelenko. Regarding Real, they got time brother, we have not

All about the ilk of player we're now trying to purchase. You don't want the sissoko's and the Jansen's of this world, so you take the step up. No idea what the financials are like but the teams with supposedly bigger budgets are the ones who have sorted themselves out (City, United, Chelsea and Liverpool)

I mean it's irrelevant really because some clubs have strengthened in areas where we have not particularly needed to strengthen.

But to play along, Naby Keita, Jorginho would definitely be starters in our team. Fred could fit into that too, but I need to see more of him. Mahrez, would definitely be pushing for a starting spot.

Then you have players with potential like Torreira at the goons, I think he's going to be a top player and think we'll regret not looking into getting him.

With regards to my earlier post to A&C, yes we all know HG is required, some players can leave on loan to organise squad etc. Martial has not been offered to us but we are pushing for him.

On the flipside, there aren't that many clubs above us in the pecking order.

And everything's going to be even more expensive next summer.

Yarmolenko was on our radar a couple of years back I believe, presumably we had better options. Anderson will do to West Ham exactly what Payet did. Spend 12-18 months there and use them as a stepping stone when he realises he's a big fish in a relatively small pond.

Thanks for the info.

If he’s not been offered and with less than four days to go, this is nail biting shit

Naby Keita - Liverpool had this tied up last year, we wouldn't have got him this season.

Jorginho - he followed his old manager and probably higher wages, doubt we could have got him.

Fred - don't rate him that well.

Mahrez - Went to city who have been chasing him for a season or so now, again doubt he would come to us over then.

We need to shift 3 or so non home grown players before we can sign any more and register them all also.

See Tevez and Mascherano for further evidence.

If we're pushing for him, I'm assuming we've sounded out and agreed personal terms - in principal anyway.

If we can get a swap deal similar to the one UTD did with arsenal for sanchez, albeit with as few million on top as possible, then that would be great business. I'm hoping we have a CB lined up, or someone who can play across the back line.

I know Poch likes a minimal squad but unfortunately we are nearing, if not at the level, where you need a squad with quality in every position which inevitably means we have to pay the going rate and have players on the bench who are on more money than players over the last few seasons.

They only have time if they're looking outside of the EPL. If they want anyone like Hazard or Courtois, they don't.
