I just had a feeling that although he has a good pen record he would miss. Plus Greens good pen record made me just expect it to be saved, and proved right

I expected him to score and I had faith, as I always do in Defoe.

I had a feeling he'd miss BECAUSE of his poor record. Keane I know will do the job but Defoe has no business taking pens. The one that sticks in my mind is the one when he kicked the ball INTO THE BLEEDING GROUND :bang:

whats with the spamming? You have now asked this in 2 thereads, and started a new one on it when it should have stayed in the match thread.

I had as much faith in Defoe as anyone else in our team to score.

Its people looking for him to fail. Not wanting him to score.

I noticed he took the same penatly he did in this fixture last year (i.e. same direction and height) I thought he would do this and the keeper would guess correctly, seems GReen thought so also. I wanted him to hit it high corner (even high and straight)

Defoe was sooooo the wrong person to take the pen. It was all wrong. shouldn't have been him.

There was fuck all wrong with the penalty. Typical. No praise for a great save from Green instead you wrongly critisise Defoe.

I thought he would miss last season against them, but he scored. This time I didn't know.

I thought he'd miss and it was poor penalty, way too near the keeper. Decent save but you'd expect him to (once he'd guessed the right way, it would have been hard not to have saved it).

I agree with TM, Defoe was wrong person to take it because of who it was against

Why not?

It's luck. Had he put it the other way he'd have scored. Had the keeper gone the other way he'd have scored. As long as you hit it on target, the rest just comes down to luck.

I don't agree.

I just can't find the words I'm looking for to say why without pissing people off.
