I read the Suns version. From what i can tell there are no links or quotes supporting the claim were after the Ajax keeper and Ramos' only quote is that we are looking at making one signing in a key defensive area. Now only counting a starting XI there are 6 key defensive roles in his tactics (possibly 7 if you argue he plays 2 DM) so it's a 1 in 6/7 guess thats its a keeper. How much do journos get paid?

Personally as he's not dropped Robinson once but chopped and changde the CB the most, i think his one Key signing will be CB.

Well I can't see Boruc choosing us over the goons, especially when he's probably more likely to be obvious first choice there.

Know nothing about the other guy.

Put a decent defence and DM in front of Robbo and i would keep him as number 1. He had that for England and had the best clean sheet record of any keeper in the Euro qualifiers.

Stekelenberg is a temperamental character, Boruc solid but not a vast improvement on our own flapper, Sebastien Frey(Fiorentina) would be vaguely sensible....

I don't think Ramos will see a keeper as a priority position. I think Robbo's confidence has improved noticably in the last few games and I suspect Ramos is happy with him.

Once the back 4 looks more steady I think we'll see Robbo return to his best.

In conclusion, journo rubbish as usual - Robbo to stay. I'd be interested to see if Alnwick is viewed as being the competition for Robbo...

Changing keepers is a wholey risky business. Robbo although was highly culpable at the back end of last and the start of this season still over all he represents the best keep we've had in such a long time. Remember the first season we finished 5th? uttlery superb.
Keepers often find themselves brilliant for one club but the form inexplicably leaves them the moment they move... especially when the move is into a bigger team or a higher pressure league.

The Scottish leagues best goal keeper is now on the Bench for Sunderland!!

I hope Arsenal get Boruc

I would go for Stekelenburg, simply because his surname is similar to mine. And I have not been able to say that about any other footballer. Ever.

Robbo will survive throught the january transfer window but like most of the rest of the defence will probably be culled in the summer.

He had a great first season but has been dodgy for a long time now. i love the blokes spirit and his attitude to Spurs but lets face it he needs to lose another 8-10kg and have a big revival of form.

Our stats for headed goals and shots from outside the box have been about the worst in the league for a season and a half. This reflects on Robbo even if its not entirely his fault.

Boruc is way way better than 'anything' else in England, anyway. Whever get's him will be a step closer to the Premiership Title....in one foul swoop! He is better in so many ways despite his current 'disease' in the SPL. COYS!

So what if he's 35? I don't understand all this "building for the future" crap. Man Utd won the league last season with a goalie older than that. If he keeps clean sheets, then great.

Ah we need experience this is true - unfortunately the more mature the asset, the less profit one can derive from selling it on. So says Mr. Levy and his little book of Footy Clubs.

You know, I'm not a Robbo fan, he's dodgy at long range shots, distribution sucks, has poor judgement and doesn't organise his defenders very well. Yet these are all things that he used to do very well. So although I do like the idea of more competition in that area, I don't think robbo is finished with us yet. It's so easy to say it's a confidence thing but it probably is the key to s form. Far from a new keeper upsetting that I believe it would be the kick in the ass he might need. His save in the second half against Anderlecht last week was world class. So yeah, lets getn a new keeper in, a real challenger to Robbo cause although I Like him Cerny clearly isn't the competition Robbo needs.
