They are putting COVER bids in all over the place.

They went after De Jong and covered themselves by agreeing a 13m deal with Wigan up front for palacios.

This is the type of business we will get caught up in now. The "GENTLEMAN AGREEMENT IS RUBBISH"

If through any channel, ITK, Media, Chairman it comes out that we are interested in a player or done a deal and Man City fancy them they will either offer more or get involved.

They cant buy everyone but we are worried they will query our pitch(and other teams) on many deals.

As Far as i know..

we wont do anything on Fabiano until Thurs as i posted last week. he is our Number 1 target although itsall down to £s and we have taken the risk of him being cup tied which is a shame but we would spend the money on a player of his quality if not in the Champs league

Diarra is our choice AFTER Parker and we are trying to force West hams hand while leaking the Diarra interest. O hara and Hutton may go the other way but poss naughton/Walker on loan.. They want a full back.

The forthcoming window is perhaps our most important in history(apart from the last).

The whole management team and Chairman are aware of our issues up front.

Its a difficult one as Levy wont allow us to spend fortunes before recouping some money for players we are happy to let go and he wont let them go before we have replacements that we deem an upgrade and believe can make it in the EPL so its not easy!

The thinking with the strikers is as follows.

We want 3 new strikers. I have no idea whom we want rid of however we know Keane is one, which leaves Pav i believe as another. Whether defoe or Crouch leave remains to be seen however we may well see both stay with the likes of GDS leaving... and various squaddies already discussed to balance the squad and free wages and release squad numbers.

We are looking for an experienced CF

Obviously we would be delighted with Drogba but we prob wont get him, pay the wages nor would he join us.. This remains to be seen.Its also dependent on whether Chelsea will even consider him moving on yet.
Diego millito is a big target- he has been benched for a lot of the season and fancies a crack at the EPL.

Usual rumours of Huntelaar/Adebayor also but not in the first choice list....
We are also all aware of Forlan although Levy not really interested.

We are looking for a goalscorer whom is just coming to the fore...
the likes of Osvaldo and Gameiro we are aware of but we are scouting all the time and hope to make the right decision. We have also been to games in Germany and italy but i have no names

We are finally looking for a young potential superstar.
Wickham, Lukaku(not much chance of this) some croatian kid? someone whom can learn and be given some playing time but we can build up as a player and as value.

This isnt rocket science but all dependent on money, other interest from other clubs and the attraction of THFC to the players.
Ulimately, we know this needs to be addressed and lets hope we can pull it off and have a varied strikeforce that can make us challenge again next year.

Levy has done everything right in this scenario and i presume suggested to luka if a bid came in he would consider it dependent on X Y and Z but you know what, he is the boss and the boss of a plc that holds an expensive asset. He will decide when he sells the asset and to whom and when..

there is an upper limit that has indeed been extended but this also takes into account agents fees and signing on fees.. In essence though Levy is trying... It dont help though with the negative tension

someone mentioned that they assume that the wage budget is at club level

as much as the point is valid in they have an amount that works salary wise for the squad there is a limit on an individuals earnings
