You do know it finished 1-3 don't you? With away goals that means Arsenal have to go there and score at least 3 unanswered goals in normal time. I just can't see them doing that. If Monaco score then it's 4 to win it.
Haha no I didn't know Monaco got a third

no I thought it was 2-1

I was out celebrating a birthday last night and saw berbatovs goal in one bar and saw arsenal had scored late on to make it 2-1 on my Skysports app on the phone

I had no idea until you guys corrected me now that Monaco had scored again

I'm very happy now :)

Arsenal are 8 points worse off than last year. They are 100% slipping.

Problem is we are 6 points worse off and not taking advantage.

Is that 8 points down from the equivalent fixtures? i..e 4 points against Stoke last year, but only one point this year? I'm not sure these things mean much at this stage of the season.

And I'd argue that we might be six points worse off, but in a cup final which points alone don't show.

If you check out the links I posted you will see that after 26 games last season Arsenal had 56 points. This season they have 48 points.
If we had just played as well as we did last season we would be above Arsenal in the EPL.

It's not that simple though is it? Arsenal have played most of the top sides twice already this season. That probably wasn't the case last year so they are bound to have less points than at this stage last season as they always lose to the top sides and usually win against the easier clubs.

Arsenal have 48 points. Last season they finished with 79 points. So to equal last years total they must get 31 points from 12 games.

As you can see they have to play 5 of the current top 9 (including Chelsea and Liverpool) plus Everton and Newcastle.
It's odds on they will not get as many points as last season IMO. I think they will fall short by 8-10 points.

Interesting point. They probably will end up with less points this year, but most of the other sides have less points as well. And they are still sitting in third so it's not like those 8 points have seen them slip right down the league. I know what you are saying about us only needing to match the points we scored last season, but wasn't that our second highest ever league total? It was always going to be hard to match that with a new manager, new system and then you add on the number of matches we've had to play this year.....Fingers crossed they fall apart now if they go out of Europe.

The horrible truth is they will slip but we will also slip and another opportunity will be lost.

They either start well or finish well, if they manage to sustain it for a whole season then they might win the league.

hate them sooooooo much.

So even after that phenomenal run of wins they will finish this season with less points than last season even if they win their last 2 games.
They are P36 with 71 points.
Last season we were P36 with 66 points. This season we are P37 with 61 points.
They have slipped a wee bit but we put no pressure on them by also slipping. We were above them in the table in February and let them off the hook.
