Are our players fitter than opposition players?

Both us and Man U had 2 games in 48 hours and we certainly looked fitter than them for the last 30 mins today.
I not always been pochs biggest fan and although we can barley string 5 passes together at times we are fitter than I've ever seen a spurs team and have won a fair few point this season because of it

We looked fresh as fucking daisies at the end of the game, hard to believe we'd had another game 43hrs before.

TBF to them, this was one of the few times they played 2 games in a week whereas we do it week in week out

Also they didn't make any changes either

I think we aren't at the level at which Southampton were and neither near the level of fitness/pressing that we have seen from a bielsa team

Did I hear the commentator say we run on average 3 miles more than our opposition in a match, meaning we will be fitter longer into the season? Pretty impressive stuff

We are still fitter than most teams hence the amount of late goals we have scored this season

Yup you can see it in the players, we are physically and a million miles mentally fitter than last season.

I don't think I've known a spurs team so fit. We were good under Avb but pochettino really has taken it up a gear

Don't think anyone is saying that we are as fit as Southampton were last season but it has been clear that we are clearly able to sustain a consistent level of pressing and play right till end of 90 minutes.

Some slight change in personnel helped but believe improvements are there to be seen and it can only be positive that we expect to be even better than we currently are. However, it is also clear that we need more work on other areas of our play.

It would also explain why certain players are seeing very little time on the pitch. It's bloody obvious what Poch expects from his players/squad, so if certain individuals aren't able/willing to provide this work ethic, they are sitting on the bench (if they're lucky) for a reason.

Well, van Gaal just blamed the draw on fatigue. Particularly amusing considering they're in two less competitions that are directly relevant considering midweek matches in those very competitions have been played in the last few weeks, and since Man U spent incredible amounts on new squad members this past summer.

Point is, what Louis was trying to say was that he absolutely agrees our players are fitter than our opponents.

Some people were also having a go at Poch rotational policy. But it has worked. Eriksen and Kane seem undropable at the moment which might become a factor.

We've played 10 games more than eurpeless ManU this season - and both clubs played a game 48 hours before, but Spurs looked far fitter than Man U today, especially in the last 20 minutes, despite only a couple of changes to the side.

That's impressive

Not sure if we can play almost the same side twice a week for the ret of the season - the next game against Chelsea may give an indication of that.

Hopefully Chelsea havent put the game to bed by the 70 minute mark.

They're obviously heads and shoulders above us when it comes to quality, but if it's tied in the later stages of the game, I fancy us to have a chance.

Another draw would be great tbf. They are a bastard of a team. Hope they play that Filipe Luis again though, he was abysmal.

Based on what?

So therefore pochettino for the last 2 seasons had the most unfit team for the 2 seasons since they conceded the most late goals

Based on the fact that we have looked fitter than a lot of the opposition in the last 15 mins of games this season.
I couldn't give a flying fuck what Southampton did last season all I know is this is the fittest spurs team I can remember

Just seen that we have played 30 games already this season, the most of any EPL team and 10 more games than Man Utd. That makes a big difference and kind of puts things into perspective, Poch is doing well. We're still in all cups and only a few points of 4th. Still lots of progress to be made but so far he's doing well and I like the fact that we seem to be finishing games strong.

The interviewer on bbc asked poch if it will be rest, rest, rest before Chelsea and he laughed and said no, train, train, train!

Quite staggering really that we have played 50% more games than Man United but we were clearly fitter and stronger than them for the full 90 minutes.
