Mauricio Pochettino and Diego Simeone are among men Argentina want to talk to about the national team coach vacancy following last month’s shock resignation of Gerardo Martino.

I was never worried about Poch going to another club. I'd not considered this, though.

Very bad new if true.

Hopefully he considers himself too young for international management. He strikes me as a 'coach' manager and seems to enjoy working with players, I don't think he'll want to leave yet.

If he wants this job he will get it at some point in his career. They change Managers all the time. No need for him to go there now. Not worried.

No way would he take that. It would be a big step backwards. Hes in the mix with Mourinho, Guardiola, Conte, Klopp, Koeman and Wenger.

Why would anyone turn that down.

I do think he would be tempted, but right now, I believe he sees himself at the start of a 'journey' with Spurs, leading to somewhere quite special, so I doubt he would walk away from that at this stage in his career. Plenty of time for him to manage the national side later on.

He's too young. International management is an old man's game on the whole. The only young men who do it are the ones without pedigree, trying to make a name for themselves imo.

Not really concerned.

Please read the following article and you will see this job is in no way shape or form in the forseeable future for our boss:

Argentine football is in a depressing state: former coach Martino had not been paid for several months & the whole system there in a total state of disrepair. The Poch may well take the job quite a way down the road, but not in its current state.

unlikely, and our managers earn many multiples more than most int'l managers

Uh oh.
This could be ideal for Pochettino.
Hope the likes of Bielsa or Simeone are considered over Pochettino.

I hear Biesla's without a club. Maybe they can get him instead.

Hands off Poch.
I hope we can keep him. There's this guy "Hodgson" who has international experience and is in the market for a new job. Also I believe Sherwood is available, please anyone but Poch. I fear the lure of his home country may be too strong but I remain a Spurs optimist despite years of evidence to the contrary.

Poch is contracted to us until 2022 I believe. Can't see Argentinian FA are going to pay that sort of compensation package.

Managing your nation is a dream come true. And he'd win them the World Cup. But I see no reason why he couldn't do a dual role.
