There's already a thread about this somewhere, when it first came about - i think it's just a load of Woolwich fans, with more money and time than sense, having a bit of a laugh at our expense.

They see the debate that was organised, they see an opportunity to stir some shit and that's about it. As i said in the other thread, I expect the Woolwich PR machine will go into overdrive, they'll release a slick statement about not tolerating ANY racial abuse in the stadium, and that's the last we'll hear from them.

they have released that statement but if it goes to court and they win (and arse fc will have no real interest in defending the claim) then we could be banned from using it. The point is that using the term 'yid' in teh context that we do is not racist and it pisses me off that no-one in the press has seen this complaint for the anti-spurs move that it actually is.

Racists?

Cheeky wankers?

How about Naybet, Mido, Ghaly, Kaboul and Taarabt. All of Muslim/Arab origins.

For a "Jewish" club I don't think we are doing too bad in the "everybody's equal" stakes.

Would like to see them try and stop 30,000 people singing it. Unless they're going to arrest everyone.

Stupid Goons, should stick to their shoe bomber chants.

Two words, fuck em.

If you don't like, what's being said in Football grounds, don't go. End of.

We call ourselves Yids, out of love for the club. When the goons call us 'Fucking Yids' are they doing the same? no. But i'd like to see them, try and stop a ground full of Yids, chanting YIDO, and YID ARMY!!!

Pretty fucking pathetic..

He was amused that the term was viewed as offensive in Britain and America.

Just to note, I don't think it's considered all that offensive in America (at least New England). I live in an area with a high concentration of jews and nobody I have ever spoken with has ever shown offense. They find the "k" word very offensive.

How many of you have actually read the article and read up on this story? Obviously not many.

These Arsenal fans aren't complaining about the term yid but the songs some Arsenal fans use during games. They are claiming that the songs like, 'Spurs are on there way to auschwitz, the yids are going to get gassed again' are racist and should be stamped out.

We should be supporting these people. Some of the songs directed at our supporters is sick and the clubs do sod all to stop it.

What exactly, do you expect the club to do? I know quite a few gooners and none of them are actually building gas chambers in their gardens because they sing the songs. Spurs supporters over the years have been guilty as well, songs about manu crashing, wenger fiddling and the chels bloke who died in a helicopter crash spring to mind. The song we used to sing about "you`ll never make the station" was a lot more sinister than songs about gas chambers. If you don`t like the songs don`t join in or don`t go. It`s bad enough the fuckers trying to get everyone to sit down (something they don`t try in block 31) without them telling us what we can and cannot sing. The gooners involved in this have got too much time or too much money, perhaps both.

Only to be expected of goons with too much time on their hands. You have to remember that these are the same people that complained and threatened action against their own club when Turkish Cypriot goons showed flags or TC Cyprus with goon colours on.

This actions resulted in all national flags being banned at the effeminates, now when you have Sh*t like that going on what can you expect.

The other point is that proportionately we probably have no more jewish supporters that Man Shitty or Manure or the arse.

In terms of racism a manure song comes to mind, park park, wherever you may be you eat rats in your own country, yadda yadda yadda, could be worse, you could be scouse eating rats in your council house.

I think that is discriminatory against, scouse, park (where ever the f he is from) and rats.

Ignore the ignorant f*ers

I know a lot of Gooner season ticket holders who don't sing the songs and show disgust at the people that do because they realise it's not something to be made fun of.

What exactly, do you expect the club to do?

The club could threaten to throw out the fans that start chants like that or actually throw them out. The club has to take action against these fans because it's racist and against the law.

Obviously you are one of these people who thinks sports are the most important in the world and events like the Holocaust don't matter. I don't think people should be singing about something that resulted in atleast 11 million people being murdered and millions of others experimented upon. A lot of the Jewish people who moved to the North London area and started to support Spurs after the war were Holocaust survivors. Imagine what their family feels hearing these chants. If your father or grandfather survived the camps (and was traumatised for the rest of his life because of it) would you be happy to hear a whole load of Chelsea fans make fun of it? There are more important things than a game of football. The people who sing it are no better than the BNP or National Front.

Have the gooners really banned national flags? Can someone confirm that, and if so, they really are a bunch of pc gone mad idiots, love it though.

this is typical. we are the ones who will get in trouble for using it when it has been used for years against us with no action taken by the authorities. if it was about black, asian, muslim or anyone else it would be dealt with. (see uefa's treatment of rangers)

That is what it is about. The Arsenal fans are suing Arsenal because of the way their own fans use the term 'yid'. They haven't mentioned anything about Spurs fans using it. They just want to stop Arsenal, Chelsea, Millwall and West Ham fans using it against Spurs (like the gas chamber song). These fans are saying that Arsenal should be throwing out anyone that starts directing chants towards Spurs fans that go on about the Holocaust, etc.
