I think that's a bit extreme and any comparison between Beckenbaur and Chiriches is comical at this stage

If Chiriches were playing like Beckenbaur instead of giving away silly penalties under no pressure in the last min of games to throw away two points fans would no doubt appreciate him a lot more

Bloody hell! I'm nearly always positive about players but some people must be watching different Spurs games to me? He has looked nothing short of dreadful and a serious liability to the side in virtually every game he has played. He is a devastating combination of adventurous and error prone.

Upon what are people basing their generous appraisals of him on? His performances in the Romanian League? I think he is a flashly ball playing defender who has moved to England and his game has been found wanting big time. I was initially excited by his signing too, but reality has to set in at some point.

Poch clearly doesn't think much of him as he has barely had a look in, in all competitions, he also signed Fazio who has instantly been bumped ahead of Vlad in the pecking order.

I'm not trying to be nasty or anything towards Vlad, but I think people are looking at him in a very generous manner

Lets face it, we need at least 1 new top center back, none of our current crop quite meet the grade. We might need to sell 1 or even 2 of them to buy what we need. I do think that Dier will be good once in his rightful position. Done reasonably well at RB, a role he clearly is not suited to.

You just completely proved my point! Flashy ball playing defender who looked good in this clip (albeit taking unnecessary risks) against weak opposition and he has been found out in better quality of the premier league.

The only premier league clips in that effectively showed him giving the ball away and losing possession, I remember the game in question....Surely the maker of the clip could find some strong assertive, confidence inspiring EPL displays?
