Arsenal supporters have been sent into meltdown this afternoon after arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur reportedly gazumped their bid to sign Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba.

The more rage the better!, but he is still to choose, so nothing to celebrate for us yet.
From what I have seen (You Tube I know!) he does look a good prospect.

StE wanted him loaned back from what I've seen, although with Toby likely to go could do with someone this season. I hope there is some truth to this though,

I suspect we offered over the amount asked for to get him for this season rather than loan back

There was the theory that Sanchez was Toby’s replacement and any new defender would slot into Sanchez’s berth. So a lower key signing for Toby might not be out of the question. Especially with Foyth so highly regarded.

Good point but I would like to see 3 if not 4 top quality CBs - if we are going for the biggies we have to GO big ...

St Etienne want to make loaning the player back for a season part of the deal. I just can't see Levy wanting to pay that much for a player that won't be at the club for a season?

I think this may prove once and for all that Toby is off.
