WTF??!??!??!

Understand that Arsenal have triggered the release clause in Jamie Vardy's contract. Leicester still determined to keep hold of him.

This is a huge. 1) Wenger's sudden willingness to think short-term, 2) What does Vardy do? 3) What do Leicester do?

Odd that he has a release clause. Didn't he sign a new deal recently?

Obviously was still looking to jump ship

Well that release clause would have been in his new deal then. If they want to spend 20 mill plus on steptoe then we have got to worry

He'd be a terrible fit in their team.

Just buy Lacazette.

If it's a proper release clause surely there's fuck all Leicester can do?
Remember when Wenger thought he had triggered Suarez's release clause lol.

I was thinking exactly that. Leicester play the perfect way for him in my opinion, balls over the top with plenty of space in behind due to having fuck all possession. It will be the opposite with Arsenal, he'll be facing a lot more defences that are camped in their half and closing all the spaces.

I hope it happens just to weaken Leicester, I don't think it will greatly improve Arsenal.

What are Leicester fans saying over in the Grammar thread?
Fuck all on Foxestalk...they're probably still out cheering buses in Leicester City centre.
Gonna be rage when they realise :)

Didn't Roy say no agents/medicals etc during the Euros ?
Looks like the goons want it done before Monday when England go to France.

He's a right chav though, wouldn't surprise me at all if he headed in the direction of the highest wage. Bet he's already told all of those clubs he's well up for a move.

Leicester fans are losing the plot. Kante and now Vardy being linked with moves. Please let this happen! Even more reason to hate Arsenal.

Leicester play in a way that suits him down to the ground.
Arsenal!? He'll be about as useful as he was for England last night.

Who will be knocking 60+ yard balls in to his path? No player who has ever played under Wenger, that's for sure...

Amazed by this, he doesn't fit the mould of a Wenger signing in any way:
1 - he turns 30 in January
2 - he's had one good season
3 - he's been playing in a counter attacking side rather than possession based side all year.

On one side I hope he goes to them but for him he should stay at Leicester where he's a club legend and realistically he prob wont play any CL games if he goes

To me, this is great news. Weakens two teams at the same time. I never expected Leicester to contend next year, but seeing Arsenal spend £20M+ to get a player that does not fit their style is good news.
