Watch the U-turn the fans pull when Leicester match his wages and he opts to stay - they'll have him made into a bronze statue outside the stadium by lunchtime tomorrow.

So... how tall is this statue going to be, you think?

I've not looked at the Woolwich fans reaction yet, but i will all but guarantee they're all shrugging it off like they were never really that interested anyway. Doesn't change the fact you got knocked.

Shame. Think be bottled it through fear of being shown up as an average player at best.

Either that or someone told him Ozil is Muslim.

Dude, couple of years ago, racist Steptoe was going out with his mates to kebab shops after a non-league result, playing part-time. That's like a McDonalds grill chef being promoted to a flagship branch cos you make a grand Big Tasty and, two years later, being offered a job at a Michelin starred restaurant.

That is an entirely different environment and, in interviews, he specifically praises the relaxed atmosphere at Leicester taking a lot of the pressure off of the players.

I think a lot of focus is on Steptoe, Mahrez and Kante, but a lot of credit needs to go to the manager. He's built a fantastic atmosphere among that squad, to the point where when they fall short technically, they make up for it in effort and team work.

I'll admit, i had Ranieri down as a blowout after the Greece thing, but he's done a smashing job.

Vardy is far from being average.
He isn't average at all. He does however rely on pace and is getting older. He also completely suits Leicester's style of play and in my opinion would be made to look average at a team like arsenal who often play against 10 men camped in their own half and don't play direct balls over the top for a player like vardy to run onto.

Vardy will be far better next season for staying at Leicester than he would have been playing for a possession team like arsenal

Maybe his experience with England has made him realise that he's best staying with a team that plays to his strengths specifically, rather than one where he'll have to completely adapt his game.

I didn't think a footballer could get past thinking of the money. Biggest figure wins. Fair play to him.

He's recently married with a young family isn't he?

Maybe he just doesn't want to uproot from Leicester. Either that or him and his agent have done Arsenal and Leicester up Like a kipper to get I'm a fat new contract.

You just know Wenger took Wilshere aside and said,
"Jack son (he fakes the French accent, he actually sounds just like Redknapp), while you're our there, 'ave a little word in Vardy's shell like ne c'est pas?"
"Course gaffer, squeeks Wilshere, I'll get him on board."
"Cushdy."

Then, after the Slovakia game,
"So wot you reckon then Jamie, silky skills, quality service, we've got it all, how can you say no?" Says young Jack,

"Will you be playing regular now you're fit then Jack?" Asks Steptoe's cadaver,
"Yeah fam, says the gooner mastermind champion, I'll be there wiv ya blud,"

"... 'ang on a second Jack, just gotta make a call" mumbled the living embodiment of Edvard Munch's Scream (getting ejimicational here wot?)
"Boss, tell 'em I said no, if this donkey's on the pitch, I'll only be scoring from me PED dealer!"

I think he deserves a bit of credit for staying put and those Leicester fans condeming him before should hang their heads. I think he is a bit of a bell but fair play

Wise choice by him, some players just suit a club - look at what the goons did to Franny Jeffers...

I think Arsenal were just trying to pull a Chelsea which is buying a player in order to make their opposition weaker rather than really wanting him.

Shame it failed, because I don't think Vardy would have suited Arsenal one bit, and now they might actually sign a striker who does.
