BBC Live Text
18:37 SUBSTITUTION - Arsenal 2-0 Tottenham
Tottenham react to going two down by withdrawing Roberto Soldado and throwing Nacer Chadli into the mix. It has been a miserable afternoon for the former Valencia man once again.
18:33 GOAL - Arsenal 2-0 Tottenham - Tomas Rosicky (62 mins)
Danny Rose, time to take a look at yourself. The Tottenham defender attempts to trick his way past the pressing Tomas Rosicky, but is robbed by the Czech who has the pace to stay clear of Kyle Walker and clip a cute finish over Hugo Lloris. Game over? It might well be.
HALF-TIME - Arsenal 1-0 Tottenham
17:46 GOAL - Arsenal 1-0 Tottenham - Santi Cazorla (31 mins)
A laser-beam first-time strike into the far corner from Santi Cazorla draws first blood. The Spaniard's crisp shot gives Hugo Lloris no chance, but there was plenty of good work in the build-up as Serge Gnabry took advantage of the space created by Theo Walcott's run to poke the pass to him between the two Spurs centre-backs.
17:35 YELLOW CARD - Arsenal 0-0 Tottenham
Thomas Vermaelen's timing is a little rusty after his time out of the team and he clatters Mousa Dembele attempting a slide tackle. The free-kick is a nice little tee for Christian Eriksen to get his shooting boots on, but his effort is just over the top. Vermaelen sees yellow.

Arsenal play host to north London rivals Tottenham in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Arsenal and Tottenham will be battling to end each others FA Cup dreams when they lock horns in the tie of the third round.

The 2005 FA Cup success for Arsenal was the last trophy Arsene Wenger's side lifted and they will be keen to end that drought this season.

Arsenal go into the clash with Tottenham full of confidence as they sit top of the Premier League table and they beat their bitter rivals 1-0 at the Emirates earlier this season.

The Gunners have won three of the five previous FA Cup meetings between these two teams. The last meeting came in the 2001 semi-final with Arsenal winning 2-1.

Tottenham have won the FA Cup on eight occasions, but they last lifted the famous old trophy back in 1991.

Tim Sherwood will be hoping to go on a good FA Cup run after helping to get their season back on track following the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas last month.

Spurs have won three of their last four games to help boost their top four hopes and they make the trip to the Emirates on the back of their impressive win at Old Trafford on New Year's Day.

Tottenham

Tottenham are hopeful that Emmanuel Adebayor will be fit to face former club Arsenal despite being stretchered off in the win over Manchester United on New Year's Day.

The injury is not thought to be serious and Adebayor is expected to shake it off to start alongside Roberto Soldado in attack.

Tim Sherwood is still missing a number of players through injury with Paulinho (ankle), Sandro (calf), Andros Townsend (hamstring), Jan Vertonghen (ankle) and Younes Kaboul (ankle) all on the sidelines.

Sherwood has no other injury concerns to deal with and is expected to stick with the side that won at Old Trafford.

Arsenal
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is doubtful for Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie against Tottenham following illness and an ankle problem.

German playmaker Mesut Ozil faces a fitness test on his shoulder injury, but forward Nicklas Bendtner (ankle) is definitely out, along with defender Kieran Gibbs (calf) and midfielder Aaron Ramsey (thigh).

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is close to returning to training from his knee injury, while Yaya Sanogo (back) and Abou Diaby (knee) continue their rehabilitation.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is a doubt after suffering from illness and an ankle injury.

Nicklas Bendtner (ankle) is injured along with Kieran Gibbs (calf) and Aaron Ramsey (thigh) while playmaker Mesut Ozil must pass a fitness test.

Andros Townsend, Lewis Holtby and Jermain Defoe could return from injury for Tottenham.

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor is fit again after being taken off on a stretcher against Manchester United on Wednesday.

Tottenham's new manager Tim Sherwood said: "How important will Adebayor be tomorrow [Saturday]? It's huge.

"I think if Arsene Wenger saw him limping off at Old Trafford, I'm sure there were a lot of pleased Arsenal fans and management and players.

"But, unfortunately, he's going to be walking out against them on Saturday.

"It didn't look great did it when he came off on that stretcher but he is a warrior. There is no holding him back at the moment."

Will we be going all out for the win? Since we don't have another match till next weekend.

Would really like to see starts for Lamela and Bentaleb. Don't think arse will send their strongest team, their main focus has to be the league.

Who neds a full squad when you can win at Old Trafford with half of one?

Trip to arsenal these days is a lot different than a trip to the worst man united side in premier legue history.
Really could've done with Sandro and vertonghen

Yet the worst United side in premiership history still managed to beat Arsenal - go figure.

Sherwood has basically said Ade will start tomorrow.

Isn't this a tad naive? I know he will be fired up but he's basically played non-stop football since his return.

I'd hate for us to burn him out given he came off with cramp just a few days ago and lose him for a sustained period.

He hadn't played for 3 months prior to this so I don't think he'll have an issue with burn out.

I agree but he'll probably be itching to play. Keep the momentum going etc...hope Tim manages him responsibly though, if he's looking spent etc get him off as the chances of injury increase then.

But surely we can? He hasn't played competitive football over a relatively consistent period for ages, now we've just thrown him in at the busiest time of the year.

I'm just fearing we could injury him through lack of rest after such a long lay off.

Personally, I say use him as much as we can before he gets into a 'can't be arsed' mode! Take your point though.

That's true, cumulative fatigue isn't the worry though...his body won't be use to this and injuries become more likely, he had no proper preseason really either.

Why is it that most of our squad is now injured? Fuck our luck. We get screwed over in regards to end of season places and injuries. What the fuck do the football gods have against us? Who do we have to sacrifice to appease them and finally get rid of this curse?

Really think it would be a huge risk to play Ade tomorrow. He hasnt played all season until about 2 weeks ago and has played like 5 matches in that span. Getting subbed off once and then coming off on a stretcher another time just 2 days ago!!!! I'd honestly just play Jermain(if fit) tomorrow before he's off to MLS instead. Obviously would rather play Ade, but we need him fit for the PL and thanks to AVB and his rediculous grudge holding, Ade is just getting to full fitness now.

When Ade was relegated to training with the youth, Sherwood, Ramsey and Les must have had alot of time to work with him. Maybe thats why he has been so good for us now??? #ConspiracyTheoryCity
