Really?? Damn lol.
Welcome back anyway. No hard feelings. Happy new year.
Happy New Year to you too. I thought that I would be indifferent when Sherwood took over, but the same unpleasant fast heart rate kicked in yesterday and lasted throughout the match. I'm sure the pre-match vague feelings of anxiety, nausea and sleeplessness will kick in over the next few weeks. The primal screaming came back when Eriksen scored against ManU; the only difference in that game was the overwhelming incredulity at Webb not giving them a penalty.

Anyway, I'm not immune to the fact that my language leaves a lot to be desired and so the ban was probably deserved. A friend went with me to a match (it was that match against Villa when Martin Jol was in charge when Kaboul scored in the last few minutes) and told my wife how appalling my language was.

That's fair enough Justin. Of course you're welcome to prefer any style of football you like and sorry if I spoke unfairly to you earlier. But I have to disagree with your sentiment that our performance in the league game was much better than it was yesterday. If I had the time I would sit down and re-watch both games to be sure but yesterday didn't feel like an embarrassment to me apart from Danny Rose's moment of madness. I think we had our chances and had we been a bit fresher we might have made more of it.

Honestly, I think our boys gave 100% yesterday and was particularly impressed by Walker, Eriksen and Dembele's hard work throughout the game. Walker should probably be given a Duracell contract the amount of running he does in games. It's frightening.

I think what a lot of the division we're seeing on SC and amongst Spurs fans in general now comes from how we think the game should be played and of course this comes down to personal preferences and even more intrinsically, our personalities.

There probably is no real right or wrong in this respect as long as either style is employed effectively. I think we can all agree we want to see our club win games and be successful.

I speak for myself when I say I personally like to see a little derring-do from my football team as the game is after all there for our entertainment first and foremost. It is also something which is supposedly part of the Tottenham identity and something which I have heard fans of other teams give us praise for.

Of course, I don't want to see suicidal formations and tactics a la Ardiles' infamous 'Christmas Tree' but I really don't think that Sherwood is as naive as some of his critics here (you included) would have us believe and all I'm asking is that people look at the performances and results fairly rather than distort the reality to fit a pre-formed picture.

So far I think it's been pretty good though wouldn't you agree? 10 points from 12 in the first 4 league games? That's not bad form.

Ok we lost to Arsenal at their place in the cup. It's really not as bad as some of you lot are making out. Let's see how the season pans out and come back to this then, eh?
In the first match, although we controlled possession they had the better chances and Lloris covered up a lot. They break very fast and those little triangles are muscle memory to them now. The main difference with them this year is that their goalkeeper has been playing well and their defence has been very good. That said, I thought that in both games we were very close to opening them up. I think Dembele needs to be more proactive with his shooting.

Are you talking about on BAE? If so, how come Spurs have said that they don't want him back?

No.

I didn't read anywhere "Spurs have said they don't want him back" He's our player and under contract so where is he going to return to Marks & Spencer?

HH's also the least trustworthy ITK on the internet.

A couple of transfer windows back Harry Hotspur was done up like a kipper by a wind up ITK, and thought he had a scoop on Andy Carroll, Moutinho and Willian treble swoop on the last day of the window.

Gave it the right bigun then deleted the posts the next day. and pretended it never happened.

Really? It's been 5-2 to them in our last two visits, 3-0 to them in another, and the one time we beat them (the first away win since 1993) we were pretty lucky if we're honest. We've had just eight wins in all competitions since then. Just as well we don't dominate everyone else like that, isn't it?
I said that we've dominated them in several games recently, not dominated them on the whole. I didn't say that they hadn't had the upper hand in the others. We're not like we were in the 00's when we couldn't beat them, we have done much better recently than in that era. But we should never make excuses for losing to them so half heartedly, given our upturn in performances against them since Redknapp took over.

Really ask mourinho who regularly says i picked the wrong team.
Difference being he changes it at half time if it isnt working as do other top managers.
Like AVB did against Chelsea earlier in the Season? Where the game was crying for AVB to put five in the midfield to match Chelsea and all he did was kept a fit Sandro on the bench?
AVB had his chance and is now gone, get over it. Sherwood is the now and he will make mistakes and cockups, but I have enough faith to believe he will learn from them. He gave us 10 (entertaining) points over the Xmas period where weeks ago our season looked doomed. Are you one of the Naive or Arrogant people who believed that so called "Top managers" were lining up to manage us? IF you believe that, then dream on.
