So let me get this straight...when Mourinho sets his team up to sit deep and defend with 2 banks of four at places like the Etihad, The Emirates and Anfield he's known as a tactical mastermind and lauded for having the foresight to get something out of the game and when Atletico Madrid setup exactly the same way in their games where they defend with two banks of four and let the opposition have the ball and counter Simeone gets praised to high heaven for creating a game plan to deal with the better teams, yet when Pochettino does it it's not the Spurs way and had we won it would have been a defeat? Do me a fucking favour.

I've seen more positive signs today than at any time this season because we can finally build on something and take confidence from it, we saw a team who have been chastised for their defending these past two seasons put in a dogged and sturdy performance that was worthy of praise. Did you not feel proud that players like Kaboul, and Rose who have been written off by many including people on here before a ball was even kicked this season put in the type of performance that we've been demanding?

And finally we have a manager who is willing to change his philosophy and cater to the opposition, how many times have we gone to places like these, played open football and been picked off? Again how many times have we bemoaned the manager for not having a 'plan b', would you rather we played open football and get absolutely tanked like last season?

I find it astounding that any fans should moan at this performance, yeah okay going forward we made many bad decisions and should have made much more on the counters but I believe that it was down to poor confidence...put it this way I'd rather the defence looked solid than the forwards because at least we can build from the back.

Good analylasis of the game Im personally happy with the result as poch set the team up right We broke when we could and Only a better more confident final ball would have seen us come away with a win.
The defence was the platform for the result with lloris and kaboul outstanding i hope We can build on this defensive display going forward.

Last season we had circa 60% posession and played a high pressing game whilst Arsenal sat back and hiy us on the counter attack. Arsenal won.

This season we changed our high pressing game to Plan B - a counter attacking game and got a well deserved draw. Yes we need to refine our Plan B - but its the first outing for these tactics, and generally they worked which i9s a good first sign..

I'm glad we will see several sets of tactics this season - it avoids us being totally predictable to the opposition. A good thing no ?

Also a better choice and delivery of the final ball and we could of had 3 goals yesterday

I see there is a growing debate about Ade vs Soldado and who would have been the least destructive and what not.
As it stands presently, I think a half-decent selection would be Lamela, Eriksen, Lennon, Chadli as our front 4.

It's the one major thing that winds me up about MrP and his selections.
I'll keep saying this as I have all this season.

That Ade should be playing alongside Lennon and Townsend (as last season when he did alright)

Soldado should be with Lamela and Chadli (all 3 seem to be on the same wave length).

Just MHO.

Can we all agree at least, that we've found our CB partnership for the season?

Huh?

C'mon guys. Let's agree on that. Whaddya say?

In the PL you can't turn up and play one in five. Sorry (and i accept the shite i will no doubt get) but Kaboul has cost us more points than he has contributed towards us winning.

Flame away.

Arsenal were definitely there for the taking today. Average show by them...hope it continues.

They did have key injuries though. We defended well scored a goal on the break and in general deserved a point against a team undefeated so far this season. Confidence booster and all that but still only a single point from a possible six against a "top four" side. After last weeks debacle a good result but not one to get too carried away about given the circumstances.

Apologies for the heat of the moment piece of hyperbole yesterday. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously, but in retrospect was quite crass. Obviously I don't wish Ebola on anybody (...except probably ISIS). (y)

That may be true but I think others like me were glad to see the "old" Kaboul back. Whether or not he is here to stays is another story

Gutted I missed the match and the Ryder cup due to being admitted to hospital on Friday, got a cyst on my back that went nasty and finally operated on Sunday 4:30, but was in such a mess watching that game might of given addenbrokes a really bad name.

Hope you're feeling better - sounds like you had a few battles of your own.

But attacking is half of the game, and we were shite at it on the whole. Hence negative comments about attackers being perfectly reasonable. No one's questioning the defence from what I can see, and personally I'm happy with the result.

I just think people giving many of that front four more than a 5 are off their rocker with incredibly low standards
