Typical. This is why we will not get Champs league: failure to secure manager's choice of players on time by chairman and not just in one window but also just as much as this Arsenal have been resolute and resilient. You can't fail to admire the scum when they have backs to the walls in the premier league. Depressing isn't it.

Still.... AVB called it. It is down to the friggin wire!! if there was a God he's clearly not a Spurs fan so far this season. Although he does like Bale.

I think they'll want to as well. Got enough games in the Championship and will be under pressure to bounce straight back up. It's not an easy league to get back out of once you go down. It's not like they'll get a lot of money out of it either.

I think this being Wigan the last thing they will want to do is abort their first foray into European football ever and close off another revenue stream.

Who the fuck asked you to be sensible, doom and gloom - Get with the programme ;)

Ah sorry, noone PM'd me. I'll try again.

Fucking levy cost us again but not buying in January. AVB got it all wrong against Fulham and Wigan we should have easily beat those wankers. That's Bale gone then, Fucking mid table here we come.

Thanks for the heads up!

It's funny that this could be the season in which Wigan have their greatest triumph and disappear for many years to come from top flight footy. This has been an abysmal fall for them, but it was happening far too often and I've wondered why Martinez is praised so much when he can't seem to eek out one season of mid-table security. He might just jump ship after this season, but if I were Everton I'd think long and hard before giving him an opportunity at their club.

As for the race for 4th, Arsenal surely wont have it so easy up at Newcastle. Pardew's comments have added a bit of pressure to himself and his team, so hopefully they'll feel liberated by the security of escaping relegation and ambitious enough to turn Arsenal over rather than capitulate on hte back of those comments in front of home support. I don't expect it though. In fact, I think we have the tougher task on the last day.

There'll probably be a lot of recrimination again although AVB is new enough and foreign enough to resist any significant backlash. Certainly if Arsenal win on Sunday and Harry had achieved what AVB did this year, there'd be plenty calling for his head. But AVB's done well enough this season and will surely be given time to improve the side for next year. I think a top 4 spot twelve months down the line is going to be a requirement for his longer term prospects though.

Top 4 will probably be even harder next season. New Chelsea and city managers coming in and given ridiculous amounts to pack their squads full of world class players, while hoovering up top young talents on big wages and sending them out on loan so clubs like us can't get them.

Man U are man u, fergie or no fergie. There's no way arsenal will get away with not bringing in some big signings for once, they know they're a long way off having a title winning team.

Even Liverpool might be a force again next season. Top 4 will be very difficult next season unless we go all out and spend money we don't have.

Winning their games is hardly "screwing us". We gave it a good shot and if we come up short we will continue to build and go again next season.

I'm taking the immature view that they poisoned us and paid off the West Brom keeper ;)

Possibly if they'd not been relegated, but there's vastly more money getting back in the PL, and they've got far from enough resources for 3 cups and getting promotion.

Arsenal won't slip up at Newcastlol. Forget it lads, we just haven't quite done enough this year. Just lacking that little bit of extra quality that you need.

Whatever happens we're going to the last day a point off fourth and still with a chance. I'd have taken that at the start of the season. And yes you can point at a dozen fixtures that could have gone other ways but so can Arsenal - losing at home to Swansea, away to Norwich, home and away to Chelsea etc. We're a point behind them. We're possible gonna finish with more points than we every have in the Premier League. It's not like we're a pile of shit.

Every year someone says this - it'll be much harder next year and this was our chance. But that's the challenge at Spurs. You have to progress as a team and squad to even stand still, let alone climb a couple of places.

And I'm not sure the managerial merry-go-round plays into those teams' hands. If that was true, then we could join them on that score. Moyes is a good appointment, but a post-Alex hangover might be on the cards. Pellegrini is a good appointment, but hasn't been in this league before. If Jose comes back it could be good for Chelsea or it could be the fulfillment of the old adage about it never being a good idea to return. Liverpool are still flakier than we are.

I don't think we need to spend money we don't have. I'd be happy to spend what we do have and for AVB to want more than 2 strikers in the squad, with some back up on the wings.

No, we just have to beat sland by 15 goals after they've lost to everton

Imagine that! We get an early goal, news comes in that Arse have gone 2 - 0 up and Everton have just scored. AVB takes off Dawson and Parker for Defoe and Siggy and we go on to win 15 - 0. Chelsea are doing a lap of honour after losing 1 - 0 and the news filters in! The Chav stadium goes into stunned silence :)
