To be honest, I really don't see what the big deal with Tuchel is. He was all hyped up as the next superstar coach but I've never seen anything from him to suggest he's anything other than a run of the mill manager to be brutally honest. He was at Mainz for 5 years, during which he had a couple of decent league finishes, then went to Dortmund where he basically maintained the status quo, with a 2nd place and 3rd place finish, during which time he managed to fall out with just about everyone at the club.

He's done absolutely nothing exceptional at all in his career and that coupled with the fact that he's a "difficult" character to work with makes me wonder why he's always linked with the top jobs whenever they come up.

You could be right, but he was strongly linked with the job before so thought it was worth a mention.

Sounds tailor made for arsenal then

We’re still better than those slags, though. Whether that constitutes a power shift is another matter but I’ll settle for being a better side.

If being a better side means finishing below them, I'm not on board with that. Or really sure what you mean by better. Arsenal are starting to play well, we are clueless and laboured. Currently I would struggle to affirm that we are better.

They're doing better because Wenger is fielding weakened teams for the Europa League I think. Still, it's a lot less of an advantage than Chelsea had last season.

The fact they're so keen to affirm that they're back above us after a couple of poor games for us says it all.

They know they're organisationally a mess. Manager on his way out, no long term squad strategy, key men leaving in due course, a January to dread - the issues go on and on. Just because they have key players shop windowing themselves and the team has put in their first good performances for a while doesn't change things.

We just need to knuckle down and get a bit of form back, our squad is strong but a bit tired and out of form but it wont take much to turn it around.

And the teams they drew in their group were of far inferior quality than the norm.

They are taking the first necessary steps to rectify this with a Sporting Director from Barca and Dortmund's chief scout, thankfully it seems they've started too late for their squad not to take a hit in January or the summer.

But knowing that club they'll weasel on somehow. It's not the luckiest club in world football for nothing.

Agree. Even if they win the title this year, half of their players are either leaving this summer or next on a free transfer. They've basically got to rebuild their entire team and off-the-field setup once Wenger leaves. If they're ahead of us at the moment that's only a short term thing that's papering over the gaping chasms that they have at the club.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger fears striker Alexandre Lacazette could be "out for a while" after suffering a suspected groin injury in Wednesday's 5-0 win against Huddersfield.

Lacazette, 26, scored the opener but was replaced at half-time by Oliver Giroud.

The France international has scored seven goals for the Gunners since joining from Lyon in July for £46.5m.

"He's definitely out for [Manchester United] this weekend," said Wenger.

"It looked like a groin injury. He could be out for a while."

Poor sod. Wenger finally starts playing him and he gets injured

Funnily enough, certain posters in here are levelling that at us already. That our players are already playing for a move rather than a spurs win - Poch's bubble has burst etc.

Makes your brain bleed with frustration - it seems its the sort of poster that desperately scrambles around to find an opposing fan to 'banter' about how we are gonna crush them/ we are so good/ other such general over-hype. Then personally blames Poch for their own misguided confidence and having made them look a fool if we dont win resoundingly....

They've still got to persuade Wenger to buy the players they put forward though. Thats the hard bit. He doesn't want the help and will only do what he thinks is right. They're wasted in their jobs until Wenger leaves

That's part of the trouble with this whole situation. Everyone at the club is basically just waiting for him to leave because they know they need to completely rebuild but can't get started properly until the new manager comes in.

AW is still saying that Sanchez and Ozil are stating until the end of the season.

There must have been some serious financial incentives put in place for this to happen,

I don't know if they will stay but what team will pay crazy dollars for players that are a few months away from being available on a free.

Man City don't look like they even need anyone else at the moment unless they want to pick Sanchez up to spoil Arsenal's chances of success ?
