If they've only got a 50m "war chest" as was reported then these are the kind of signings they're going to be making. Nowadays 50m barely gets you even 1 top-4 level player let alone a whole squad rebuild

Unless you're Stan Collymore in which case it gets you Eriksen, Alli or Kane

All kinds of reasons. They spent a load of money on dross players, lost some of their biggest assets for free, gave Ozil an insane massive contract, no CL and low finishes in the league = much less TV money etc.

Also their owner is purely about business so isn't putting any money in so anything they want to spend they have to generate themselves and he wants a nice profit to take out for himself at the end so isn't going to let them spunk it all on new players.
