It literally wasn't until I saw this that I realised Özil hadn't been playing! I just assumed he'd done naff all again.

They said just before the match started that he phoned in feeling ill. They will probably ask him for a sicknote.

After the argument with the national team and getting people to back him in the race debate you'd think he'd knuckle down and do his best. Instead he seems to be acting even more of a waste of oxygen than he was before and proving all of his detractors right

Just like last week, they look really poor. Weak in the middle, unorganised at the back and Cech is fading fast, and wasteful up front. West Ham could have scored 4 or 5 if their players had made a better choice with the final ball. But, you know, West Ham..

I wish Spurs were playing them soon.

They look like Liverpool did in the 4 nil defeat to us at Wembley last year. Fullbacks far too high and leaving their centrebacks exposed (exacerbated by a shit central midfield). Let’s hope emery doesn’t realise it leaves them so exposed like Klopp did following that defeat and stop them pushing up so much.

Reis nelson would be a big loss to them. Definitely a player they saw becoming senior squad.

Can’t believe Ozil called a sickie (allegedly because he was going to be played in a new role he wasn’t happy with).

And he’s done it before apparently.

A superb player when he’s up for it, but this seems less and less often at moment.

He even got the number 10 shirt for Arsenal he’s been after for a while but he just doesn’t seem to be able to turn on his performances.

I’m wary of saying he has a poor attitude as just been commenting in Rose thread about depression so could be he suffers from these issues, or he could just have an attitude problem? Hard to say either way really but a very frustrating player.

He’s an excuses man. When Germany and Arsenal are flying he’s a poster boy. When times are tough he bails.

Make you wonder sometimes.

Grab the big money move and join a club in turmoil and overhauling process.

At least they have the lunchtime Europa League draw to look forward to.
