That’s actually well played by him. No more venom from the crowd cos they know he’s going, he could end up with the Europa league, which would be an amazing way to leave, but even if they lose embarrassingly the fans won’t moan because they know he’s going.

You've gotta imagine they have someone lined up to replace him so feel comfortable announcing it now... right?

Will be very interesting to see what calibre of manager they get, and that also may be heavily dependent on what European competition they are in.
Yep.. and I'd expect a situation similar to Man Utd post-Fergie where they go through a few managers before finding someone more long term. It's going to take some time for any new manager to break away from Wenger's legacy.

If someone like David Dein still held the reins over there I would assume there was a good 'hit the ground running' replacement lined up and ready to take over. Who knows what they are gonna do ?

Begrudging respect to the man who did so much for those ungrateful fuckers who don't realise what he has done for that club.

I remember when Lineker left Spurs for Grampus Eight - Arsene was the man who bought him and I hated the man from that day. Lineker was one of the main reasons why I started loving Spurs. Edit; So it was ironic when Arsenal appointed him

Anyhow, Arsene has done fantastic work with Arsenal and you got to salute the man despite being the manager of Arsenal.

Now he’s announced he’s leaving I hope their fans treat him with the respect, admiration and unconditional gratitude he deserves from them.

Many of them won’t, of course.

Sad to see him go in many ways; a genuine Premier League legend who always came across as a thoroughly decent bloke. We only hated him for so many years because they were simply a class above us for so long.

Ties in perfectly with yesterdays story about Vieira wanting to manage them.....

Any former player going in to manage their club is a massive risk.
Vieira's legacy with that club could be destroyed within 9 months... Would be funny as fuck if it were the case though!
I'm sure a certain arsehole with high ambitions is already submitting his CV!!!
