I thought he already had a stake myself.

He does:

Alisher Usmanov's decision to sell his stake to Arsenal’s majority Stan Kroenke will not end his involvement at a Premier League football club.

The prominent USM sign at Everton’s Finch Farm training facility is proof enough of the Russian billionaire's empire's enduring presence elsewhere. As news filtered through of Usmanov ending his long-term ambition of running The Emirates, naturally Everton fans hope he will extend influence at Goodison Park.

While there's obvious schadenfreude here, I do think this is very troubling that someone who's so comprehensively failed his other franchises and so clearly doesn't have Arsenal's interests at heart can do this. It could just as easily be us one day post-ENIC. I hope it never comes to that. To be honest we need legislation now to guarantee fans a role in the running of clubs.

I'm not a big fan of leveraged buy-outs as I understand them.

It is like in 5-10 years after we finally pay off the stadium loan, a 'buyer' comes along to 'buy' out Enic for £3bil, and the club takes out a loan for this, and we are back where we are now, except with a bigger debt.
Then 10 years further on when we finally pay that back, another 'buyer' comes along and we are back in big debt again.

Seems to me we are better off not paying off our stadium debt at all - grow it if anything - to deter these dodgy practices. Enic possibly have a different view...

Tbh, I'm not. This is bad news for English football, if one of our biggest clubs can be wrenched away from its fans and used to benefit the finances of its foreign plutocrat owner. All of us need to stand up against this sort of shit- were having all of our heritage, and our futures, ripped away from us by a nasty elite, and I'm not just talking about football.

I'll get over it.

I take no pleasure from seeing football supporters getting screwed by multi millionaires and billionaires whoever they are

I hate the scum with a passion but I wont us to smash them and be above them because we're doing a great job and have our house in order not because they are being destroyed

It's a bit of fun for us to wallow in the scums misfortunes for 5mins but after that the football family needs to stand up to these ****s

It can literally happen to any of us

Whilst I'd like to think I could be the better man, I also think... FUCK THAT!

Them lot have lorded it over us every year, they've continuously kicked us whenever we were down, they patronise us, we have to put up with their 'history lessons' and jokes about 'empty trophy cabinet'. A large part of their fan base are glory hunters who jumped on board during the Henry era, I can't have a sensible football discussion with some of them without them having a sly dig. That muppet DT. Everything about them could disappear as far as I care.

If Usmanov wants another north London club to whack a billion into, then hello I know one...!

Would rather avoid Russian businessmen at the moment. Knowing our luck he'd either be in Putin's pocket and get indicted or be an enemy of Putin and drink some dodgy tea.

Wouldnt it be more the sweeter if they crumbled slowly and their fans eat each other alive in debates about who their next manager should be all the while we continue to progress and improve season after season.

If they have heavy defeats to city and Chelsea and you add kroenke in, could all get toxic very quickly.

On a side note every time I see Emery I just crack up. He’s like some dodgy Steve coogan character ?

I'd love it to play out like that this season, but we might want to wait 2 or 3 games before passing judgement. I mean, they were playing the best team in the league. It's not like they got spanked by the Spammers.
