My guess would be they've got one very bored social media video person who is making stuff to entertain himself. Feel for them, I've been there.

Or it's his remit. Always look on the bright side of life

So the dream start is not to be and the Terry/Bruce double act has yet to click into gear. To say I dislike John Terry would be a gross understatement. When he joined Villa amidst all the "I'm a winner" and "I didn't want to go to a retirement home to play" hype I wasn't impressed. Whilst he may have taken a cut in wages from potential overseas earnings I am sure there are huge lucrative bonuses in place if Villa win promotion this year. His ego demanded that he was given the opportunity to appear as a lifesaver and hero to a Championship side and lead them to to the promised land of the Premiership. One point from three games would suggest that for the moment the wheels have come off that plan. Bruce says he'll soon sort it out....see link :

Should the transfer window close and they still haven't won then the clouds will gather over Steve Bruce and Mr Terry may begin to question his decision to go there....it's an extremely interesting situation and well worth keeping an eye on.
I don't know why but I keep hearing a contingency of Villa supporters quoting a line from The Life Of Brian...
"He's NOT the Messiah...he's a very,very naughty boy !"

Can see then sacking Bruce and giving Terry the job! Crazy I know but in a world where Trump is hailed as a messianic figure then all is possible

I like Brucie. I think he will sort it out. I hope they do, and get settled, mainly because I want Onomah to get some playing time in a settled team and develop nicely. Chaos at villa wouldn't be a good thing for young Josh.

Question i'd ask as a Villa fan (not that i understand the goings on at Villa) would be how many half decent players could we have got in/loaned for Terry's salary? (let's be honest he's not going to be on buttons is he?)

Villa are one of those clubs who will someday return to the top division and the sycophants in the media will claim we've missed them, but if it wasn't for Josh Onomah's loan there I would have forgotten they existed. In their last few years in the EPL they just made up the numbers and offered nothing of any note bar a couple of surprise victories at Anfield. Now, other than young Josh and John Terry I couldn't name any of their players and they seem to be adding nothing to the Championship and only bringing their fans misery piled on top of despair.

The only reason I popped into this thread is because a few Villa fan accounts appeared on my Twitter timeline last night praising Onomah whilst roundly slating the rest of the team and how its being managed/coached. Suffice to say, I don't think the transfer window will have closed before the clouds (and vultures) gather over Steve Bruce.

It's weird as thought they picked up under Bruce last season and he's made some decent signings.

They did pick up last season. Then turned to shit again before the season ended. It's just not happening. I expect him to be gone by October.

Villa are one of those once great clubs that have become broken. When Sheff weds and Forrest went down people thought they'd bounce straight back but what actually happened is they got relegated again and stayed in the third tier for some time. Parachute payments mean they have an advantage over a lot of the teams they face but if they don't get promoted before they stop it'll get really tough for them.

Much as Villa did have an indifferent season last time around and they are rightly under pressure given that there has been a decent budget for signings (and as much as I loathe Terry), it is pretty worrying when a manager is being talked about as being in crisis after literally a few games.

I'd like to see Wednesday and Forest in the top flight again.

I hope Villa copy Leeds and stay out for as long as possible.

I never minded Villa, at least they usually tried to play decent football (pre the McLeish season of course). I know three fans and two of them are really nice guys, one of them joined me in cutting ties with a Chelski friend of ours because he fell in with a BNP/EDL-type crowd and turned into a right dick. But I think the club has become such a joke that it's for the best if they stay away for a while.
