Around 10 guys infront of us missed the Kane goal as they were finishing their HT beer.

Can’t understand the desperate need for a HT beer when you have to neck it in order to be out in time for the 2nd half. Same lot missed the opening goal against Utd last week too :banghead:
I can't understand the need to stop people consuming alcohol in view of the pitch. Such a nonsense rule.

I think another factor is the number of kids who are now supporting Spurs thanks to the Bale/modric era and now Kane/Alli.
My lad plays youth football and there's close to a third of all the kids turning up in Spurs gear now (although we are within an hour of North London) compared to just a handful in the past.
In a couple of games where I've sat in the top tier this season they've been packed out with families.
We really are the team of choice for kids in this country and I think that has had a massive effect on attendances.

Agree with this and seeing it at my lads U8 football team.

Half of squad of 8 are Spurs

Hopefully it disappears alongside the standing ban and all the other ridiculous anti-football rubbish dating back to Thatcher's day.

Did that need a wtf? Have you ever seen a man get his head stoved in Tenerife or Aya Napa or get chased through Burnley with a rusty nail 4x2? Because I’ve been there and seen it. The English can’t handle drink, it’s something we are proud of. Until we develop a maturity to it we can’t have nice things - case and point, the amount of total dickheads fighting in the home end yesterday. You think it’s changed, if anything coke is dirt cheap and routinely consumed at spurs games as well as piss flavoured carlsberg.

So no, it won’t change anytime soon. Failing to understand this is a failure to understand the English and its problems. We are proud amateurs and we like to drink and fight.

So arrest the morons running around with rusty nails or whatever, give them their banning orders, and let the other 99% of people enjoy themselves. Football shouldn't be gentrified just because a tiny proportion take it too far.

Interesting that the younger generation aren't too worried about trophies, they seem more drawn to iconic British players.

My lad has been obsessed with Rooney, Bale and now Kane in his lifetime (he's only 10) so shows the power of commercialism and the effect of home-grown players on youngsters.

Had a Carlsberg yesterday after the game and it was disgusting

Kane and Dele will help to attract the young fans. Kids are still fascinated by the England team and have yet built up the cynicism that most adults have when it comes to the national side
