So best that we don't go after him, and then a bigger club will still sign him instead of us anyway?
The article doesn't really much, just Aulas saying that they can't stop these players from leaving, as happened with Lacazette and Tolisso. The Mirror reckon we're willing to bid £55m.

I think he'd be a great fit for us and really hoped we'd do something in the last window (kiss of death). I don't see us getting anywhere near him now though. Seems we won't take a chance on a prospect but won't cough up the reddies for a proven player either.

Aulas puts the ball in Levy’s court. Levy chuckles, picks it up and legs it

unlike your Spurrific you forgot the ending

"and sold it on ebay for £5m listing it as the ball that won A Murry his 1st Wimbledon title"

He's involved in building us a fantastic stadium which should step us up to a better footing to compete with the monsters with whom we cannot compete financially. There is no club with less resources than us doing better than us, rather we have repeatedly finished above clubs with much better resources. When do we start judging whether what he did/does 'doesn't work anymore', last summer? This week? In a year or two years? In my opinion we are not near that day yet.

Like I said - just because he has done well, doesn't mean he will continue to do well.
He's been showing signs for a while that he still lives and breathes the 2005 transfer market.
He'll be put out to pasture within 18 months if he doesn't adapt to the current market. Whether he agrees with what's going on or not, he has to adapt to survive.

Perhaps we should have done that this summer. Watch us be linked next summer before he goes somewhere else.

If that's what it takes, I'd pay it. This guy looks the real deal to me.

Pmsl, did Darren Lewis, write that article. Spurs spend 55 million, we have a Zero next spend title to defend!
In January , we could be out of the CL, out the league cup. We are not spending that amount of cash on player, knowing full well the manager will need to spend again in the summer.
