This won't end will it. Reeled out time and time again with no mention of monkey boy. Jebus.

Sorry thinky, but although I understand it, I sort of don't either.

Should we say the trophies Burkinshaw won don't count cos he had Hoddle? Don't get me started on Nicholson. None of their stats count for anything because 'they had'?

I've even seen posts excusing or belittling what he did at Porto for some magic reason or another. Ramos gets plenty of credit for turning us to shit but hardly any for winning a cup.

He had what he had and like every manager does, he used it and if he gets a bit of credit for it, where's the harm in that? We're still where we are now. I know you're not specifically saying he shouldn't get any credit, but the record books will show the stats for ever, they won't have a little asterix next to them saying *But he had Bale.

It wouldn't hurt just to give the man some credit. And not just AVB either. We see it with former managers, players and so on.

We can be such a bunch of classless oiks sometimes

Mrs A&C once said to me (on one of the rare occasions she deigned to even comment on football) that Spurs fans are the only ones with their heads in the clouds and up their arses at the same time.

And I include myself in that :D

That's actually very classy. I admire Wenger actually. Great coach. Shame he's a scummer

Wenger speaks a lot of sense most of the time except after when arsenal have just lost.
One of my most favourite things about football is watching his post match interview after they lose

Reading that made me do two things.

1. Was subconsciously read it in a french accent

And 2. Realise that Wenger is actually a very clever man

I agree, but he had lost King, Modric and Van Der Vaart.

Parker's legs went, Sandro missed half the season and Adebayor had a stinker of a season.

Can't agree Archie. I said it months ago that Bale papered over a lot of cracks and tbf his game winning goals/performances were more outstanding and more stark than I've ever seen before.

Yes, groundhog is winning games for lolerpool, but he's not having to bail them out as such game after game. It's a different type of influence, though as potent.

I was an AVB fanboy from the start, got no truck with the guy other than he's a stubborn fool who could have been great here if he'd have necked a slice of humble crumble. One of the worst cases of cutting off ones nose I've ever seen.

I wasn't fooled at our highest point landmark etc. There were major issues with our game as far as I could see and without any monkey magic in the team I knew if they weren't addressed we could only go so far and there'd be problems.

When he didn't sell dawson and Defoe (Dawson especially) and replace with some sort of upgrade, I knew we could be in trouble. That was super significant for me. Too weak a link in such a vital position.

So, well...erm...yeah...up ya bum!:p;)

P.S. He did some very good things, I'm not all neg. about him, I'm mostly angry with him because I had his back and he was just too proud to make it all work here and take us onto the greatness I hoped he would.

Like I said when he was sacked: relieved yet gutted.

Spot on Wenger

AC Milan linked to Villas-Boas today but he is in no rush to jump straight into a new job ( Times)

Quite sad reading back through this thread at the good quality posters that we’ve lost in the last few years or at least I don’t seem to see them post anymore.

Read back a couple of pages. Funny thing is people wouldn't accuse Jose of only being successful because of Kane and Son as they know the amount of defensive work required to make it work. Was similar to Bale and AVB and it almost worked for us.

Funny that I was thinking the exact opposite. Glad to be rid of a few of them
