I am afraid AVB was naive
Again his team selection was questionable

To me centre back pairing was wrong
Middle 3 not strong enough
Wingers selection wrong
High line wrong against a quick free scoring side. Citeh happily gave away possession but quick on counter

The players lacked leadership, something that has been said before

It was just the place to nick a 1 - 0 Be in the contest in the last 30 minutes

He's a calm enough bloke, so hopefully we pull our socks up, suck this one up, and move on. But I'm having trouble seeing it. When he says the game plan we worked on became "secondary" after going an early goal down - that's a bit of a worry. The slow ponderous possession game is terrible and we're really screwed when we go one down.

My main worry at the moment is that he seems much more like a technical director than a manager. He doesn't seem to be a leader of men. His phrases like "we have to be ashamed" of this rather than "we are ashamed" of this are the sort of jargon that grates with me. But it might just be that it isn't his native language. He claims his own emotions aren't important, but I think this technocratic approach might be losing the dressing room.

The talk of him getting the sack is probably just among the papers and the fans at the moment. But he needs to turn it around, and fast. If that means changing back to 4-4-2, you'd again have to wonder what he brings to the table when his own footballing philosophy is a failure in the Premier League. Or can he turn it around with his preferred system?

Is it me or does that sound that he is de-voiding himself of any liability!?

WE have to be ashamed. WE have to be ashamed. WE have to be ashamed.

I'm sure I don't need to tell you what WE means. Hardly passing the buck.

We, hardly suggest's he's taking responsibility though now does it. And "WE" doesn't tell you fuck all really. That could mean anything, maybe he should have used the term "I" instead. Might have earned himself a little more respect, i dunno.

It was a poor performance collectively. Why should AVB take responsiblity for Lloris miskicking a ball and Kaboul being second to react to his subsequent save. AVB also wasn't repsonsible for Kaboul passing it back to Lloris and the resulting miskick that led to the second goal. Nor was he on the field for Lamela not tracking Navas' run.

What he did do - as suggested by many on here was:

Play 2 wingers on their natural side.
Play Sandro as suggested
Play Kaboul who many wanted straight in.
Not play Chiriches as many think he should be behind Dawson and Kaboul
Brought Lloris back
Play Lamela
Not play Dembele

He did many many things that people have suggested he do over the last 2 weeks. Mainly the wingers and Lamela.

People have said he is arrogant, too rigid will never change is ways. Errrrr he played with 2 wingers on their natural sides, what are they on about. He went 442 with Ade and Soldado as people suggested. He has also mentioned that he will be looking to use 442 more often. He's even been accused of not understanding football as he was never a professional footballer, yet the irony is clearly lost on most as those who think they know better are also not professional footballers.

Despite making alll these changes and showing evidence for changing his ways, those with 20/20 hindsight still manage to criticise him and call him rigid for what were mainly individual errors. Yet he also holds his hands up and admits it's also his part to blame and lo and behold he gets criticised.

Any avid reader of this site can not dispute the main changes people have wanted over the last 2 weeks. We lost doing it but they are absolved of any blame, the manager should know better. Ironically if we hadn't beaten them 1-0 with a turgid performance people would probably still have moaned. Oh the joys of being a Spurs fan.
