I'm going to my first away game as an official away team fan soon (villa).
I'm really excited to be part of the traveling spurs, as we always seem to make a good account of ourselves and only hope i can hold my own
Has anyone got any advice/stories of away game experiences?

Also post match I'm meeting a group of friends who are going to the game in the villa end. having never been to villa park is there a local boozer i will be able to meet in before/after the game with home fans? or will i need to wait until getting back into birmingham to meet up?

cheers

I'm waiting for the day when Tottenham win away against these clubs in the league (can it be done?)): Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea.

It's been embarrassingly long since, its about time don't you think?

see you there james. it's my first trip to villa so i can't recommend a pub. i'll be in doug ellis lower stand. you? hmmm looking at the ticket that means we're in one of the long stands not behind a goal. unusual.

same at everton the next week, i'm in lower bullens stand that's also a long side of the pitch. i've been there before, you're really under the upper tier, like there's much more a roof than most places

My next away game is Everton (thanks MattyP), first time I've sat in the away end at Goodison. Seems like it's right by the corner flag, live on SS1, so watch out for me :)

Away games are the best - I mostly go to away games and the atmosphere is awesome. So long as you're not Northern and they're not singing anti-Northern songs to you!

I saw Netty had posted in "Away Games" and curiosity got the better of me - part mod hat, I might add, as i was going to move the thread to The mansion!

haven't decided whether to go with "we've got redknapp, you've got my hubcap" or "we've got heurelho, you've got my car stereo"

I'm in for Villa again although I'm in the upper tier this time. Would love a pre-match pint but I'll have the missus in all her villa gear with me :-(

When Martin O'Neill took over at Villa, one of the first things he did was moving the away fans to the side. He wants home fans at both ends to have support from both ends.

A pub called the Quadrant, a short walk from the ground is usually full of yids.
you wont get in any pub around the ground as they to see your tickets and an away ticket = no entry.

I'd recommend drinking somewhere round Piccadilly or Oxford Road, then getting the tram in...
