Liege: Witsel staying put in Jan

Standard Liege have warned a host of Premier League sides that will not sell Axel Witsel in January after already rejecting one £17million bid.

A host of clubs from around Europe are understood to be keeping close tabs on the 19-year-old midfield but despite interest from Italy, France and Spain, it is the host of Premier League clubs who look keenest.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bolton and Middlesbrough are all thought to be considering making a bid in January.
But Standard's vice-president Luciano D'Onofrio has revealed the club has no plans to sell Witsel during the next window and they have already turned down a huge offer for him.
"I had a bid of €20million for Witsel and it was refused," he said.
"It is not even a question."
Meanwhile, D'Onofrio revealed that the club are also interested in signing African striker Tresor Mputu.
The DR Congo star has told Sky Sports he was set to join Marseille after shunning Tottenham and Blackburn.
But D'Onofrio admits Standard are keen, saying: "In Congo, we like a player called Tresor Mputu - his club have our details and it only now needs a phone call to seal the transfer."
