Others may disagree but i think someone of this quality would be a welcome addition to the squad in competion or partnership with dier.
Dier has been excellent this year but could do with a break now and again, plus if fazio goes eric can drop back into CB where so far we have been injury free leading to our defensive solidity.
Not that it would happen but another CM plus CF would really kick us on imo, the stumbling block for witsel would surely be wages.

We do very much need another DM, even though Dier has made the position his own. He needs rest some time and also the addition of a quality player behind him will help push him to even greater heights at the position. Witsel can bring stability to the side if Dier, god forbid, loses all form or goes out injured. He is also someone we can bring on as a sub to regain control of the game when we start to lose it. Depending on cost, it could be a solid transfer. All this being said, we need to get in another striker first before to turn to other areas of the squad.

I'm not denying that, but Dembele (and Bentaleb) would do a better job IMO (at the very least as good a job) as Witsel in playing as a DM.
