He is a left winger. So why oh why does Harry insist on playing him out of position.

Ever since the Norwich game, Bale has not played a decent proportion of any game in his natural position, his and our form has suffered for it. Harry is playing him on the right, through the middle and up his own arse.

Keep it simple.

Bale is off form lately no matter where he plays,we need him to flying again if we are to recover from this slump.

He was terrible though.

He was a proper Tottenham player, keepy uppys in the box, random bouts of complete insanity and bombed forward regardless of cover. When he played, it was always exciting, in the same way that having a car with iffy breaks is more exiting than a normal car.

That Norwich game killed us :( He and Harry both think he can play anywhere, like Messi/Ronaldo.

He is a left winger, yes when Lennon plays it is nice to see them swapping wings to give defenders problems but LENNON IS INJURED SO WHY MAKE THE LEFT WING WEAK AS WELL AS THE RIGHT. So pathetic that it took them 40 minutes or whatever it was in the second half to give him the instruction to go over to the left wing. Ekotto got down the left on a few occassions, did they not think "hmmm, Bale might exploit that area...".

Probably too busy thinking "Corrr Phil Neville would be triffic for England"....

I didn't join in with the 'he plays on the left' chants today (too negative and was sung bit too often for my liking) but I shared the frustration completely.

I know Neville had a good game against Bale last year but he was completely ineffectual today. If he had shown glimpses of looking dangerous in that position previously then fair enough, but I just can't understand what possessed him to play him there today and not change it around earlier than he did. The pairing of Parker and Sandro in the middle was correct, but I don't see the logic in playing your other two creative midfielders out of position. I know Modric is more comfortable on the left, but I would still have played him on the right and kept Bale on the left. It's much better to have one player out of position than two, especially away from home.

When Lennon is out Harry tries to compensate by playing Bale in both positions. So he ends up in the middle of nowhere a lot of the time.

I'd like to see our top players remain in their best positions all the time. Bale on the left, Lennon, Modric in the middle and VDV in the hole.

That doesn't mean to say they shouldn't interchange positions in a game, but that should be their main position.

When Lennon and VDV get injured i'd like us to replace them with players from the bench, not with Bale and Modric trying to compensate.

Losing key players is bad enough without putting other key players out of position.
