MUFC can FRO!

Even if he ever does leave, it won't be to go to MUFC. They can't afford him or his wages.

He's ours, and he will stay our player for many years to come. We are going places, and not far at all off genuinely challenging for top honours.

We will finish in the top 4 again this year, and buy those extra 2-3 players needed to take to that next level. This is our time.

We are on the up. MUFC are, if anything, standing still at best or slightly on the decline. In 12-18 months time, they could potentially have lost Scholes, Giggs, Neville and Van Der Sar (retirements), Rio's back could still be crocked, Hargreaves could still be bothering BUPA, and Fergie could be retired.

Stay where you are Gareth my dear boy.

good shout........especially 3 days after man u gave rooney 250,000 a week:shrug:

If we fail to get into the Champions League then we are going to have a big problem. I am sure we could keep most of our players but there will be a danger that one of the top players will leave and that is only going to be one of three players; Modric, Van der Vaart and Bale.

If we qualify for the Champions League next year then we can keep all of them but if we do not, players are going to want to continue playing in it. There are clubs out there that can financially blow us out of the water. If a club in the Champions League offered you more then you are earning at your current club, you are going to do your hardest to make sure you move and I would not blame them.

its all very well comparing the moves of carrick and berbatov but i thnk the club is in a very different position now to then and has moved on significantly.

Taking modric as an example - this is his third season now with us and has 5 more years on his contract after this (6 year extension last year if i remember right) - we're in a better position to keep hold of quality players now and they are less likely to jump ship.

An FA Cup wouldnt go a miss to help the cause though

Lets be realistic here....

Bale i am sure will stay with us , and develop into a top player in the next season or 2,
but once the really big boys come in for him, with a serious offer, will he resist?
Will we resist an offer of say 50m..what with the new stadium etc...
Bale will only stay with us if we are continuosly improving, ie; champs league a regular thing....and a team that challenges for the title...

otherwise he will be offski.....don't kid yourselves.

Obviously I don't want him to go and pray he stays.

The thing is if Man C went silly and offered £35-40 million then I can't see Levy turning that down.

I wouldn't sell Man U a virus.

I can! why would you sell a prize asset when you don't need to, when by having that asset you encourage better players to the club improving the team and increasing success & profits and when you know that asset is not going to lose value and more than likely will gain value? It's false economy and it's bad business, say what you like about Levy but you can't acuse him of being a bad businessman.

What about this.

WE DO NOT SELL OUR STAR PLAYERS TO OUR COMPETITORS IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE???

We do not sell to Chelsea, Arsenal, Utd, City, Liverpool or West Ham - that is just the way it is.

If we sell to Man City then we have rubber stamped their superiority, you didn't see them selling to us over the summer.

That said, City will not be interested in any case as they know we would take them to the cleaners in terms of agreeing a price (like 60 million etc) and they are well covered with young exciting talent in those positions.

United will be where the firm interest comes from. United fans practically see it as certain as death and taxes...Bale replacing Giggs, both Welsh bla bla bla...

If we sell our best player to them again it would literally be heart breaking this time. I dont think we will and Levy has created a fantastic reputation for these situations now. We have to protect this squad and keep it together, getting a large sum for Bale would set us back having to incorporate new playes into the team and we would forever be taking two steps forward and one back.

We should do everything in our power to hold on to our most valuable assets (Bale, VDV and Modric) otherwise this will continuously happen and we will be branded a selling Club. How do you sell the ambition of the Club to new recruits if you sell you're best players at every given opportunity? Much like United knowing the true importance and implications of Rooney leaving United, not just the loss of a fantastic individual who hasn't even entered his peak, but a realisation that United could become a diminishing asset - selling its best player, not a way to attract other stars to the Club.

If we want to improve in terms of recruiting top talant selling Bale would have a similar knock on effect to viabile targets for us.

At the end of the day actions speak louder than words. Keeping Bale for now is a must and our best way to achieving that is another top 4 finish. Personally speaking if we finish top 4 this season I think we will get more talent and we wont look back as a Club. The League is so important for us this season and this could be a real cross roads for out future.

Well, Harry, its all mind games, but would you kindly ask the Spurs press team to release a story of you saying Ferguson is nearly out of the game, no player would wanna join a team when they dunno who will be manager, and that Rooney should've moved on.

You should apply for a job at WHL press office.

Bale is under contract until 2014. My guess we have another 2 seasons to establish ourselves in the Premiership top 4 / Champions League. If we continue to finish top 4 over the next 3 seasons I can see us keeping our key players: Bale, Modric, VDV and attracting some top quality strikers.

It looks like Bale is happy to stay in the short-term. Redknapp seems to have the confidence of the players for now and we are challenging for top 4. If we don't make CL next season we may struggle to hold on to him amongst others.

As for Manure's finances, they are still in a relatively strong position. With revenues of nearly £300m and wages are 46% of turnover (well below premiership average) they can afford to service their interest payments. The market certainly gave them the thumbs up earlier this year when it refinanced £500m of loans in what were probably quite challenging conditions. It looks like a vote of confidence and gives them greater financial flexibility.

In England, any one of Chelsea, Man Utd or City will most likely be in for him. On the Continent interest could come from Inter, AC, Barcelona or Real.

It will take us a good 5 years of CL football before we stop being a selling club.

Bale's hat-trick on the European stage sent his valuation to at least £30 million so there's no way Levy would entertain offers of £35 million. With Bale under a 5 year contract it would take an offer of £50 million to even get Levy to start considering it.

And before I get shot down, Im not saying Bale is WORTH £50 million, I'm saying that it would take that figure before Spurs even think about selling.

On top of that, why would we take back a player like Carrick when we have players like Huddlestone and Modric - arguably better passers and playmakers than Carrick.

The best way to shut down this rumour (at least for the short term), is to beat them at OT this weekend.

MU are not at their best at the moment but I think we would have a better chance with Crouch on the bench as Rio & Vidic will just push him around whenever he gets near the ball.

There's now NewsNow rumours linking him to both Milan clubs and Chelsea. You could take this as proof that not everything on there comes to fruition but it will probably cause some people on here a stress overload.

I don't think we would want to sell in any case. The only issue is Bale wanting to leave - in which case all we can do is cash-in optimally.

Having said that Bale seems mature enough to know that he should stay at least 2 more seasons to consolidate his reputation, before securing that big-money move that would make him world-famous, similar to Ashley Cole.
