It'd be great to have him back, and anyone entertaining doubts about that would soon shed them. He's world class and a hyper aggressive attacking player, which is exactly what we need. We have a team full of stars now, many of whom have won little or nothing. Adding Bale to the attacking quartet is a no-brainer if we can pull it off.

I wish someone else would hurry up and sign him. Yes he's a very talented player. But he didn't even work hard enough without the ball in a Redknapp team, and Zidane has had exactly the same issues with him (exacerbated by having to accommodate Ronaldo's work ethic of course).

I don't want us to be a galactico team. I'd much rather we looked at a player who's very good, but slightly less gifted than world class, who actually fits the group ethos, and we try to get back to being about the collective again. As it is I think as good as players like Alli and Son can be, their deficiencies without the ball are compromising us, and it's spread to people like Kane, who now works about half as hard as he used before he was canonised.
The collective. Sounds a bit Bill Shankly. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I'm going to see The The next week. I'm going to play all the albums this week.

I'm going to ask Matt Johnson if he can take the time out of the tour to kick out the bull crap from BC.

I guess I got it from articles like this one:
https://metro.co.uk/2010/04/15/cris...o-manchester-united-real-madrid-claim-242129/

"However, the Spanish club have claimed sales of branded shirts and other ‘Ronaldo memorabilia’ have already seen them recoup a substantial amount of the 25-year-old’s transfer fee."

However as you point out, they also say... "The income of around £100 million has not all gone towards paying back the outlay for the player’s services due to production and marketing costs and payments to kit manufacturer Adidas and Ronaldo himself. But experts are predicting throughout the player’s six-year contract he will more than make up for his market value in merchandising alone – regardless of his performances on the pitch."

Hi everyone! first poster here!
As much as I want to see this, I'm not getting my hopes up..
Bale makes I think 600k/ a WEEK...
How can Spurs pay him even say 300k a week?
If you pay him 300k a week then you gonna have to pay KIng Kane the same..
Can't see it...

Nah I'm sure there were posters on here before you :finger:

As has been discussed on the various different threads in which Bale has been mentioned, at Madrid, the club are taking 40% of Bale's image rights, which obviously won't be the case when / if he's sold. So the thinking is, IF we were to attempt to sign him, we simply allow him retain his full image rights & that would hopefully help to make up any shortfall in the salary we're able to offer. That's the theory, at least.

From the article:
I think people underestimate the lifestyle choice in all this. Bale's a homely type. A down to earth guy at the end of the day. Maybe he wants to lower the pressure on himself, return to somewhere familiar, and is thinking about where his wife and child would be happiest. I don't think enough account is taken of stuff like that versus the financial implications in a decision like this.
Don't think Cardiff can afford him
