Whilst not being Delap length they seemed to me like they were getting some decent girth on em. I heard Harry say something about them the other day.

Bale im sure would admit he has been shit this year but he looked sharp on sunday, despite 1 outrageous shot.

For me he has to start against watford, give the team a more balanced look against a less talented but hard working and needing to prove a point watford team.

I would play a near to full team, then if we are comfortable at half time then bring on the youngsters like Bostock, Boateng, Taraabt...

With 'The Bale curse' I'm beginning to wonder if we should ever play him again! ;-)

He should develop the throw-ins though. We need all the armoury we can get!

Iwas listening to the game on radio 5 xtra and they were slagging Bale off saying Harry and kevin Bond were screaming at him to push forward and he was very reluctant to do so

the problem is, why we can't score enough goals from corners ? so i don't think we won't take any advantage from Bale throw ins while we don't improve our attacking set-peices.

as i said in match ratings, we have a lot of corner kicks & Free-kicks and we can't be even dangerous. Last time i was satisfied when we played Hull and Bale made three decent FKs, that's long time ago.

The reason we dont score that many from corners, Free kicks etc is because we dont have a towering presence in the air, im not saying we should buy him but sonko for reading has scored plenty of goals this season and we need someone like that. A big 6 foot 5ish gorilla who will bully defences and attackers alike.

But King, Woody scored in the past, Corluka & Pavluchenko are good in the air. Bent is decent. I think Bent & Roman need to improve their movement off the ball

Woodgate scored ONE, lets be honest lucky goal, King hasnt scored in what has got to be at least 2 years. Corluka often isnt forward and Bent is hardly a physcial presence to be scared of. We need a brute that will dominate both boxes.

Jenas should be given the freekicks which can be put into the box from 30-40yds. Theyre the only ones he's good at, but he is actually very good at them. Think Dawsons goal v chelski in the 2-1, the 2 berbatov goals in quick succession, and woody in the CC final.

As has been mentioned, we dont have the physical presence to be a direct threat from his throws. But we do have an opportunity to push that extra bit further upfield because of his throws. I thought Fraizer Campbell used his throws well during the UEFA Cup game against NEC. Just by making a clever run behind the defence and pulling defenders with him to create space. It will give us a chance to open a few spaces and make more from the 2nd ball than the first.

Two  And both against Chelsea.

But he rarely ever scores though.

Going back a few posts I like Bale and think he will develop in to a quality player but he is still very young. I would like us to help him develop over the next couple of years by only playing him at the right times and in specific games.
There is no doubt that he is a great prospect but how many times have we said that about a player only for them to be thrown in to the first team and then lose it through high expectations. Let him develop away from the spot light so that our amazingly fickle media can't analyse his every move and then rip him apart.
