If Lucas did not make that run we don't score. Stop criticising him for making the run and be happy because he scored the goal that saw us through.

I thought this was pretty interesting: This first clip is Cillessen's save on Lucas' header. Watch after the play develops and Lucas wins the ball back and shoots for the far post. Kane is waiting for that square pass at the 6-yard box - and he probably scores if he gets the pass.

Now, this 2nd clip is Lucas' goal. The roles are reversed, Kane has the ball on the outside, and instead of going for goal - plays the pass in to Lucas -> Goal

I don't think there was anything wrong with Lucas attempting the shot in the first clip - but I like that it almost seems like Kane learned from that, and knew to make the pass on the 2nd shot, not even 10 minutes later, instead of attempting the difficult shot from a wide angle.
It wasn't that clear cut really, Moura was moving onto Kane's cross whereas Kane was standing facing Moura and had a player a yard or two ahead of him and another one on the goal line.

December 17th the draw .....and Spurs will be in it....brilliant

I never doubted it except I thought it would by beating Barca and not as nailing biting and aging as it was. Ignoring the Arse match, we have played some scintillating football at times in a number of matches over the last half a dozen or so matches. It is hard to believe that we are such a good squad as very few if any of us really believed this young squad could take on the expensively bought world class players in the rich clubs. I cannot find the words to praise Poch, his coaches and the players highly enough for becoming a team capable of being compared to and being able to compete with the very best in Europe without buying it in. They may not be ready yet to win the EC or EPL but they are amazingly close to it. They have bonded so closely I cannot imagine any one of them wanting to leave and I see others queuing up to join. For me the Glory, Glory days have started and the future looks great.

I wasn’t suggesting Lucas did anything wrong, just that he was attacking the same space as Llorente. Ideally, you’d like your strikers to provide options, but the overload works too.
How was he attacking the same space? He was making a typical run that you'd expect a striker in a 4-4-2. Llorente was occupying a completely different area. He moves towards the ball in the end but he is in the position for a deeper cross. Lucas is the free man there, Kane manages to drag three defenders towards him to free up space for lucas. Without that run would of been a comfortable interception for Barca. We actually need to make more runs like that. Kane gets isolated to easily these days.

When Kane and Lucas play together, Kane can be less effective. But this isn't because Lucas is getting in his way but because Kane drops deeper to drag players with him, creating the space which pacy players can exploit so well. Is this the best use of Kane, probably not. But was effective when we played Man utd, and in the first half of England vs Croatia in the world cup.

I see CSKA are beating Madrid away currently. I presume everyone will spout it was only their B team, right? :)

Different situations entirely. Lucas body was in a much better starting point for a shot than Kane, similarly though the pass was on, its not a simple situation, there were a lot of defenders between Kane and the goal with their number 15 already pressing onto Kane expecting the pass. Wouldn't be strait forward. I mean I think the pass would be the right move, but I'm not convinced it would of been a guilt edge chance.

In the second clip Kane's run takes all of the defenders out of the picture, probably more of a mistake from a Barca point of view, and Lucas is completely free. The pass was much harder than the one Lucas elected not to take but Kane put a great ball with wonderful pace on it. From there, pretty much any touch would result in a goal.

I'd just read Henry Winter's report and thought it was very good, but then read Liew. It was on another plane.

That article he wrote recently on Sissoko is possibly the best bit of football related writing I've ever read. Excluding everything by Neil Ashton and Paul Jiggins obviously

In the half-time I said that I don't believe we will turn it around. I was wrong cause we did. We are in 1/16 and that's the most important thing. Although when I look at the chances we had I have this feeling that we are still missing something in those big games. We can't kill the game. Look at Son goal against Leicester. Quick look at the goal, great shot, full of confidence and fantastic goal. And he had two similar chances at Camp Nou, both weak, easy shots. Kane one on one - went wide. Eriksen - straight at the keeper. You could say that it was "one of those days" but why those days are always in big cup games? I thought we were playing really great in the second half. Lots of chances created. But we have to learn to be more lethal. And I do think that we will. Those games are great experience for our team. To be honest we didn't have so much of them, only 3 year of CL experience for almost all of our players. Because we went through I hope it will give great confidence boost for our player. We always had to learn from defeats. It's good that we can finally learn from a win.

Tottenham express 'great concern' at fan claims of mistreatment by Barcelona security

Tottenham Hotspur have expressed "great concern" at reports from their supporters about violent treatment at the Camp Nou on Tuesday, after footage emerged appearing to show Barcelona security personnel beating them with batons.

One 45-second clip posted on Twitter shows stewards striking out at fans during Tuesday's Champions League meeting between the two teams, seemingly without provocation, as one supporter yells: "You can't do that!"

A Spurs spokesman said: "We have been made aware of a number of issues our fans faced in gaining access to the stadium. The reports we have received from our supporters are obviously of great concern to us and we shall be contacting the relevant authorities."

The fan who posted the video wrote: "I just need to address this issue which happened last night during the game. Absolutely disgusting behavior by Barcelona stewards hitting us with batons for no reason! @SpursOfficial please send this to @UEFA @championsLeAgUe its disgusting. RT to find these scumbags!"

The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust have "requested an urgent debrief with the club" and invited fans to submit photos or accounts of the events.

One replied with more video footage of a beating with a baton, while others posted photos of large bruises.

It is not the first time Barcelona stewards have been accused of being heavy-handed with fans of an English team.

Back in April, Chelsea submitted a formal complaint to UEFA regarding the treatment of their travelling supporters by stewards and Spanish police before and after the second leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie against Barcelona.
