"Barcelona are unbeaten in their last 28 home Champions League games (W26 D2). They've scored 87 goals in that run, while conceding just 13 and never more than once in a match." - Opta Stats

What a stat that is.
Let's give it our best shot, nights like these is what the CL is all about.

Bar winning a final if we win is it the greatest night in our history ? Hard to think of a bigger game you can possibly win unless of course it’s a final.

The only thing that would make it bigger would be if Barca also was playing to advance to the next round.

Barca will rest players as they have a lot of Injuries at the moment and bigger fish to fry. But Messi might have his sights set on the top goalscorer award. Really hope he is rested, but if he plays we could be in for a long night.

Gotta say, I'm buzzing for tonight and I bet our players are too. This is most definitely what this competition is all about. No reason to be nervous, just play with freedom and give it everything and I genuinely think we can win.

If we get beat then so be it, I'm glad we have given ourselves a chance of qualifying after being pretty awful in the first few games. We know where we messed up in this group stage and we need to have made peace with that already so tonight the pressure is off IMO.

If we drop into Europa then I'm also fine with that too. Going in at the knockout phase means pretty much all the crappy, back-end of nowhere teams are gone and it'll be a chance at a trophy. I also think it's important we're continuing to play European games in the 2nd half of the season as we need to continue to be used to that if we ever want to win the CL in future.

Looking at the papers today it seems that they are going with the spurs have to win away in Barcelona line.

Only looking at the headlines but it seems they are portraying it as easier than it is going to be. They’re probably setting us up for a fall, but if not, I can’t think of a time when we were ever expected to go there and be good enough to win. It’s strange but not unwelcome!

I have very mixed feelings about this game

A part of me is confident we will win, Kane Alli Eriksen KWP Rose Jan Toby will all have a big game

But the other part of me thinks that we will play Barca in Camp Nou, Messi will probably play and those player who hasn’t played much will want to prove a point

I’ve been thinking about this game all week I’m going crazy, I really don’t want us to be in the Europa League, I hate that tournament

Please please please God, Universe anyone please let us win

If the players dont fuck it up by their own mistakes we might have a chance. Just no more stupid decisions please.

Such a difficult task ahead tonight will probably need to win and are we able to not concede I don't think that is likely, if poch gets through tonight that will be the best moment of his career at spurs I reckon especially as the odds are stacked against us.

Luckily we still have the slight chance that PSV could do us a favour! Very unlikely, but a nice straw to clutch to :)

Not sure he meant getting twatted 6-0 to drop down to the no-hoper league when he said that. Also:

Sports historian, Norman Giller, who has written biographies on both Nicholson and his skipper Danny Blanchflower, traces this quote to Blanchflower. "Bill was a blunt Yorkshireman who just did not use this sort of language," Giller has written in[18] "Danny was the poet of the team and he both said this and wrote it in his newspaper columns when captain of Tottenham. Somehow somebody has put the words into Nicholson's mouth, but it was definitely Danny who said it first."

No doubt we'll be accused of bottling it, even if Lolerpool lose at home to Napoli, we'll be the legends.

All I’m hoping, however unlikely, is for PSV to beat Inter. Any other result in our game would then be fine.

Yeah it's a shame PSV only have pride to play for and Inter know that a win for them probably takes them through at our expense.
Oh well, let's hope Barcelona rest a couple more and we go through.

Not sure I want Liverpool going out of the CL... would mean they were free to focus on the league.

Depends if Klipklop wants to try and win it, that would take its toll on their league form far more than the Champions league (extra round of games, Thursday nights, travelling to the outer regions of the universe)
