whitewash in progress... only lower league clubs will be punished publicly. any epl team will settle out of court with a massive gagging order etc... imo

Not sure about that. Chelsea are already in the news because they tried the payoff and the gagging order.

I was under the assumption that they paid him off years ago and that it's difficult to punish a club when those involved may have long gone. I glossed over the article and it says the payment was made in the last 3 years?? WOW. If that's accurate then they should be made an example of.

Is it too strong to suggest a severe points deduction or relegation, or will they just punish the club in the pocket as always? Which hardly ever works with this scummy club.
No, I don't think a severe points-deduction or even relegation is too strong. Personally, I'd prefer to see that shabby sordid club dissolved altogether (chance would be a fine thing). As some on here (including me) have said, Chelscum is a cancer in English football (or football in general). The only option with a cancerous growth is to remove it.

I am sickened by these constant revelations of abuse and assault by so many people in positions of power and in entertainment and now professional sports.

What the hell makes these people do such despicable horrible things and how many other people knew it was going on and chose not to say anything? Did they just wake up one morning and decide this would be OK because other people they knew were doing it and getting away with it?

When we were growing up we were told not to talk to or trust strangers and all the time it was the people we knew and trusted and looked up to that were doing these things.

How can you teach your children to respect authority figures anymore? They all seem corrupt or perverted

I'm not trying to be funny, but I sat in on a few political science lectures when I was younger and one thing the lecturer said has stayed with me ever since: "Power corrupts."

Makes you completely lose faith in Football administration. FIFA & their vote buying cover-ups & general corruption, the FA with their dismissive attitude towards child abuse and their general inability to act in any football matters with decisive affirmative decisions.... i despair.

Justice is blind... when she wants to be :(

I'm sure they'll get there eventually, I guess it's just spiralled into a much larger investigation. Still surprising that they wouldn't deal with the guy who started the ball rolling straight away.

Spurs have been indirectly named now.

'All 5 prem clubs in London have been caught up in historical sexual abuse allegations' according to breaking news on SSN.

how anyone can cover for a peado is unfathomable in my mind. If 1 of my family or close friends were 1 i'd be telling them to go camping on the moors and make peace with their god, and then go meet their god.
Unfortunately there was a very "it'll look bad for the institution" mindset back then. Protect the club, or the church, or whatever. Most of these people had jobs for life there, and didn't want to risk losing them with a stink getting out. Terrible, dark times. And people always go, how could regular Germans turn a blind eye to the Nazis?
