He could throw the ball as far as he could kick it.
Well over the half way line. That's what I remember.
You would have thought such fitness and strength would give footballers a long and trouble free life, but it doesn't always seem to work out like that.

A decent cat but was never forgiven for not being as good as Big Pat.
Get well soon, Barry.

I remember him well. He looked a clone to big Pat when he deputised. But when we refused to keep Big Pat, and he signed up for them lot, he just didn’t cut it with loads of blunders. GWS Fella

I wish him well but remember him for these type of moments at Masfield and Bristol Rovers - pretty rough for all the Spurs keepers of that era Terry Lee died very young as did Mark Kendall and Aleksic hopefully Daines pulls through

about 6.20 comes the mistake

Well that video should cheer him up!
A goalie's job must be one of the most stressful there is, with millions watching and a error could near finish your career. There has to be a reason that these guys are running into early health problems. Maybe stress is a factor.

Used to live opposite me. He wasnt spoken of as highly as Pat, Ray, Erik etc. I guess he was like our Kasey Keller

Very interesting to see Mansfield played in a peat bog back in the 1970s. Also, you older lot seem to bang on all the time about how great the terraces were back in the day, but the spurs fans in that video look like they're watching the game from a car park lol

P.S get well soon, Barry Daines
