Joey Barton is nearing his Newcastle United debut. Barton could make his full Newcastle debut against Tottenham a week on Monday after coming through a closed-doors friendly against Rangers at Newcastle's training ground yesterday.
Toon boss Sam Allardyce said: "Getting him back on to the scene is important, but we must do it properly.
"You always want your top players fit.
"His record at Man City speaks for itself and hopefully he will have a similar one with Newcastle."

Is it me or does everypne whos been injured for years comes back against us

Great idea! A dirty racist **** would be just perfect. Especially if he ends up doing six months for ABH, which he well might.

No, you're quite right - Jenas, Zokora, Huddlestone, Tainio and Malbranque are a better choice of players.

You're now trying to avoid the argument.

Where's the argument? You said you would have liked him to come to Spurs, and nobody said that you wouldn't like him to come.

If your point is that he a a better center mid than we have then you are correct. However I wouldn't like him at Spurs as he is a ****.

I think not. We may need better central midfielders than the ones we have now, or at least one, but Barton isn't that one. He's not a genuine hard man, he's a dirty little sneak who would shit himself up against the likes of Roy Keane. He specialises in 'tackles' like the one he made on Mendes—raking his studs down his Achilles from behind. He stubbed out a cigar in a team-mate's eye, beat shit out of some kid at an airport (and bit Dunne when he tried to drag him off), and beat shit out of a team-mate at a training session. And made monkey noises in Atouba's ear until Toobs decked him.

I have the advantage of you here in having a brother-in-law who's been a City season-ticket holder for over thirty years and gets a fair bit of gossip. Barton's not that special, can be very effective on his day, but is basically a pikey **** and a liability. He made a big deal of how he was one of City's best players last season, but the fact is he wasn't missed at all when he was suspended; City actually did better without him.

And he could well go down for up to a year for his assault on what's-his-face. Which would make him a great signing.

I think it tends to be players who haven't scored for years do so against us.

... with a bicycle kick. :-(

Didn't Claus Lundekvam do that against us? Or some other Southampton defender. Scored their first goal (ever) against us, and it was a mid-air volley from a corner.

Fucking joke - seriously that happens so often.

I remember up at Villa (a few years ago now) we lost 1-0 (put Davenport up front in the last 10 minutes ) after Solano who hadn't scored for ages did exactly the same thing. It's honestly ridiculous.

As for Barton, he can fuck right off. If you want that sort of player playing for us then there's issues. No divers. No ****s.

Themz my rulez.

wasnt it a 16/17 yr old kid he decided it would be funny to stub the cigar in his eye? makes that even worse.

i agree with what your saying and am pretty sure his stats from last year actually proved he wasnt really a ball winner, think he won very few tackles for a CM but people think he is a hard man cos he does an attrocious foul that is highlighted on MOTD, i seem to recall the stats saying his passing, shooting and crossing was excellent but tackling not great.
