I swear half the members of this site just live to fucking moan.

We showed a fair bit of fight and lost to a better team. We've got 9 days to prepare and really have a go at top four, which we're more than capable of doing. If we don't get top four at the end of the season, if we lose every game from now 9-0, then yes, moan. But not when we need to rally up.

Conclusion: support the team or fuck off.

For future pens Hudd should take a 10 yard run up and execute the keeper. Nothing will mindfuck em like picking parts of their keeper out the back of the net

Well done Spurs, unfortunately injuries cost us, as I have no doubt that with a full squad we would have won.
No matter. here's to beating Chelsea and Arse into 3rd.

And I wanted to say, Well Played Dempsey - to ll the Dempsey haters, he gave us hope! I like the guy!

Yeah, probably will give it up at the end of this season to be honest. Very disillusioned at the way this club is being run. That's my personal opinion. I paid a bloody large amount of money over the past 8 years on my season tickets and I've had enough. And I can tell you that I'm not the only one. Of course, there'll be no shortage of suckers to take my place... but maybe if you'd paid the money I have to follow a club that I used to love, you'd be pretty pissed off too....

I doubt you'll be badly missed, as you sound like exactly the sort of moaning, overly-expectant, 'Ive paid my money so I can call them ****s if I want' type of fan I'm forever hearing who just expects constant success and improvement, and seems to have no idea how utterly shit we were for years and years until very recently.

So AVB committed to playing his best available starting XI for the majority of the Europa League. Where has that got us? A tired squad, our best player injured, and no silverware.... goes to prove that Harry was right!!

Should have stuck to playing a second string team in the Europa League and kept our key players fresh for the Premier League campaign instead.

We'll finish 5th in the league this year behind Arsenal in 3rd and Chelsea in 4th.

Bale will be gone in the summer.

Levy will mess around in the transfer market as usual but fail to deliver as usual. Blue & Yellow, yeah right....

I've been a season ticket holder for the last 8 seasons and I'm fed up with the same old excuses year in, year out. Levy engineered the departure of the best manager we had in the last 25 years because he never trusted Harry and he never believed that Harry fitted his description of a modern day football manager. Now he has AVB who was found out at Chelsea - and who'llbe found out at Spurs within the next 6-9 months. We have a reducing squad which has too many players which are simply not good enough to play regularly for a 'top 3' team - Gallas, Assou-Ekotto, Adebayor, Dempsey, Lennon (yes, completely overrated & overhyped by Spurs fans), Huddlestone, Defoe, Livermore, Friedel... not good enough.

What I'd give for a Berbatov or Modric in their prime... that was before Levy sold them and replaced them with players of a much lesser quality, but that's our beloved chairman's definition of a 'good deal'.

What a shit post. Do us a favour and get drunk or something and switch your PC off.

This is Spurs get used to it cruelty in it's finest form! Dawson was immense tonight a heart & soul performance where he didn't deserve to be on the losing side. Adebaynor if a penalty defined a season that was it why oh why didn't he play in Sig that 2nd half of extra time FFS! Sums up his forseeable exit.

9 days rest before Citeh by that time the Chavs will have an out of control injury list can live in hope. Pit of the stomach defeat this one but the sick comes knowing the Chavs will win it Abramovich and Gazprom nothing like a conflict of interests for the CL. Imagine the Chavs influence - UEFA if we can't win the CL can we win the Europa instead, oh and my players don't like the fact that there is no CL theme tune when they play, time to be sick. I'd suggest 'Killing in the Name' by Rage Against the Machine or something with plastic in the title their motto if we can't earnt it will buy it instead never seems to end.

Pray what happens to us last year happens to them but realistically we're be lucky to make the Europa next year now signed bitter & twisted lol.

The last line should be written in big letters all around WHL!

Wow. We have some absolute ***** supporting us don't we?

Regardless of some of the performance's we went out bravely.

There are some performances I want to criticise but wont. Not now.

Some 'fans' reactions have made me ashamed to be associated with them by club affiliation.

Disgraceful.

Overall I would of loved to win. Like us all. Think we did us proud 2-2. Verts sending off- yeah last man but they were jumping as soon as we got close. Just knew it would come down to ade, don't know what to say- hate him / love him. Liability really. Overall I am proud! We got that far and we did a respectful job. Penalties I hate so much supporting spurs/England it's not our game.

Hope this gives us the drive to get fourth

Season ticket holder for last 8 seasons? What amazing timing.

League finishes while you've been attending:
4 5 4 8 11 5 5 9

Last eight league finishes before you attended:
14 10 9 12 10 11 14 10

So basically we've not had it so good for a long time, and you've lucked out for your ticket

Yet still you moan?

Disappointing that all the real teams have been knocked out and only the CL 'reward for failure' clubs remain in he EL. This needs to be fixed, we have AC Milan to blame for this farce.

Oh, and I hope Chelsea draw Fenerbache.

Back from the game.

Very very dissappointed. Thought it was mostly a shit game with plenty of errors on both sides, not so much quality.
But while thinking about it I'd say we gave our best and most with the squad given.

But to be only on the losers side (rarely winning cups/ rarely qualifying for CL) is very hard at the moment. Need a success soon. Let it be CL qualifcation or any fn cup.

Btw I was very happy to see Vejlkovic, Ceballos and Coulthirst included in the warm up. Great experience for them.

Just back home after the game in Basel. Not bothered going through the thread but no doubt Ade is/was the scapegoat. Fact is this defeat is a self inflicted defeat. If you're going to leave a world class gk on the bench to play a far inferior average keeper in a game you need to win then you deserve everything you get.

Lloris imho would have done far better with the 2 goals conceaded tonight and made a better fist of it in the pen shoot out. No one around me had any confidence whatsoever that Brad was going to save a pen and predictably that's how it transpired.

The tie was lost last week with our woeful home performance. We were given a second bite of the cheery tonight, and considering we have no game for 9 odd days the opportunity was gifted to us to play our strongest team. The rest as they say is history.

Embarrassed and seriously fucked off we have been knocked out by a average European team who we made them look like Barca. A massive chance of ending our trophy drought has gone and the architects of our downfall was ourselves.

Rant over....

I wouldn't be so sure of that. They've beaten us and Zenit, and dumped United out of the CL in 2011.

To be honest, the way we've played this tournament, one game against Inter and one against Lyon excepted, we've been pretty fortunate to get this far. 'We're in it to win it', apparently (or were in it to win it), but in the group stage looked altogether less convincing than last season, despite fielding a much stronger team. People on here were trying to draw positives from the fact that we'd somehow escaped a total mullering from Lazio—we probably made them look a good deal better than they actually are. As for the lame showings against Panathinaikos and Maribor, the less said the better.

All in all, the EL has been the one question mark I've had against AVB.

4 wins in 12 games, I just read. That's unbelievable

Why do you disagree with my previous post ShelfBoy?

I've laid out a fairly coherent argument

I'm not knocking your opinion fella it's just that I dont think we will get fourth now as avb to me looks like he rode his luck for a while but now has been found out of late.
Its not his fault if he is out of his depth but rather people above for employing him we can all see that since Liverpool we have been dogshit again far far to many goals conceded and a team that appears to be crashing once again
