Davies will on current form come close to player of the season, but looking at Kane's current form possibly not. It will however be interesting to see what Poch does now that Rose is closing in on a return to first team football.

Rose needs to earn his way back into the side, if Davies was dropped it would be criminal given how good he has been.

Speaking pre-injury, I think Rose at his best is better than Davies at his best, who knows much impact the injury and his comments (which surely pissed Poch off no end) will have, plus Davies' excellent form since Rose did his knee in.

Called it before the season started. Davies is proving himself Rose’s equal. Great for Spurs.

Danny Rose

I actually think he has been better on his last few showings to be honest, although it has been a while since Rose played so I may have forgotten how good he was but I can't remember Rose contributing this much in terms of assists and goals over such a small space of games? Take for example from the start of this season, doesn't Davies have a number of assists and two goals already?

Totally agree, well said. If he continues, hes definitely a big contender. Imagine if he gets better? Seems to be a introvert coming out of his shell. Think there's more to come.

It's Poch's magic with full backs yet again. I think everyone knew that Davies was a good player, and a great squad option, but few I feel would have thought that he had another level. All credit to Poch because he has found that extra level.

I actually think it's the other way around. I think the very, very best of Davies is even better than the very best of Rose. The major difference to me is that Davies still is not AS consistently exceeding expectations as Rose was pre injury. But after Davies' best matches this season, I think each player's ceiling tips in favour of Davies. To try to describe it metaphorically with a scale from 1 to 10, Davies varies between 7.0 and 8.0. Rose pre injury varied between 7.3 and 7.6 or something like that.

A fit Danny Rose on the form he showed before his injury last season is head and shoulders above Ben Davies

Rose offers so much more going forward and is much more of a threat

He's got that winning mentality and wants to affect games

Davies is a pretty average Joe even though he's doing alright at the moment and against much lesser opponents does very well. A bit like Trippier

I think Poch knew what he was getting when he signed Davies, as he managed him previously.

That was the main reason I never doubted Davies signing (or Wanyama)

Apart from being quicker, I really don't think Rose does offer more going forward than Davies.

Rose's crossing is still mediocre at best and Davies is a far more intelligent player. I am loving the runs coming inside and into the box, Ben has added to his game this season, it has already led to two goals and it gives yet another dimension to our attacking play.

You really only have to ask yourself one question as to the difference in abilities now of Rose & Davies

How many of the top 3-4 are knocking our door down to sign Ben Davies?

I don't think Pep or Jose will be on the phone to Levy anytime soon.....
