Apologies if this has been mentioned already, but I think Davies has really improved since we moved to 4 at the back and Son became a regular at LW.

The way in which Son stays wide on the left - and occupies the opponent’s right back - enables Davies to have a positive attacking impact with his passing and crossing. It also means there is less impetus for him to get forward at every attack, as Trippier does on the right.

Without Son in the team, the right back can push up on Davies - as Davies doesn’t have the pace to beat his man, he ends up having to pass square/backwards.
He also plays as an Inverted full back when we attack, Son hugs the touch line and Davies plays in field offering another option for a pass and to stop the counter attack.

So apparantly I managed to order a shirt with Davies at the back before going to bed after a night out on saturday. Impressed that I actually managed to order the right size.

Drunk me knows his shit.
And got the spelling right! You DID get the spelling right, didn't you...?

The first NLD this season - he was awful. No two ways about it. But so were the whole team - they just didn't turn up.

The NLD just gone he was very good - and Kane gets all the headlines but it was largely down to the quality of Davies' cross. Put it in exactly the right area for Harry.

Quality. More please.

Just been talking with a neutral, lifelong Wolves supporter, who was raving about the performance of Davies in the NLD.

I am one of those people who got a lot of enjoyment out of watching Walker and rose at their best scare defences; yet have always felt that Davies and Trippier are perhaps more intelligent, versatile players if less naturally pacy and talented

If you added Walker and Rose’s pace to Trips and Davies, you’d have the ultimate full back.

I thought Davis did really well. He really needs to be applauded. Getting booked and giving a penalty so early in the game not only did not shake him, he actually grew into the game and played very well.

Still thinking about Rose when he was on form, much better than Davies and that's the level our lb should be if we want to challenge for the title. Davies is good player to have in team, but I have to say he just isn't good enough to be the first option.

I think you're clutching a bit here. Davies was poor.
At that level Davies is just a bit short. A fully fit Rose is the better bet in the big games . Aurier is just a nightmare. Trippier would have struggled against Costa but doesn’t dive in like Aurier. At least Aurier is banned from the return game.

I thought Davies first half was poor. Penalty, few other bits of sloppy play and not getting past his man when crossing several times. Second half much better

Overall think he’s a v solid player and come so far vs when he signed. Don’t see him as a weak link at all. But still see Rose at his best as offering a bit more pace on the recovery allowing him to take more risks going forward but equally he can also be frustrating with his final ball
